Still working on getting through the triple strum course. I hope post St. Anne’s reel as well but this was a lot of fun to get to know.

cauer2ParticipantHey all,
Its been a while since I have been active on here. I intend to post a video of one of the songs, but I though this was kind of a cool aside. A little while back I watched Andrew’s video on why he plays a Kanilea, and since I’m always curious about things ukulele, I came across this video on YouTube. Its a bit long, but I thought it gave a lot of insight into the heart behind Kanilea. I just thought it might be worth sharing since the Kanilea is up for grabs at the end of this member challenge. Anyway, good luck to all. I will say, I am truly enjoying the triple strum course…Out in the North is a favorite piece of mine, so I’m really excited to get to learn it. Andrew, as always, thank you for the great content.January 1, 2020 at 9:25 pm in reply to: Participate in the January 2020 Member Challenge – Original Music! #34746
cauer2ParticipantSo I just noticed that auto correct somehow turned lullaby into 😶

cauer2ParticipantWell it looks like another awesome challenge. I just took a listen to both the etude and Grace’s lullaby any as these tend to be more geared to the “seasoned beginner”. I loved both pieces… I have both high and low G ukes… I’m just not sure which to choose. I’m really looking forward to getting going on this year’s challenges. Deadbuggy, really enjoyed your composition. I’m hoping to start writing some myself; seems I remember being much more creative in my younger days. Anyway I think it takes a lot of time and energy to put something together and I really enjoyed the fruit of your efforts. Keep up the good work. As always, thanks to you Andrew and team for such great content for us to access. Good luck everyone and Happy New Year.

I have really enjoyed this member challenge Andrew, and I am enjoying the courses a lot. Merry Christmas everybody. I look forward to seeing you guys in the next challenge.

cauer2ParticipantHere is December’s piece. It has been a lot of fun learning these songs, but I’m glad to get back to some course work. I was thinking to do White Christmas as well if I have the time. For now, here is Greensleeves.

Many props👊 for breaking the ice on this one too. To echo Robin’s statement, we’ve all been waiting for someone to post this piece. Thanks for sharing.

cauer2ParticipantVery nice k_ra. I think you did a great job with the arpeggiated strumming. I have been working on getting that technique down but it is really hard for me; my fingers just dont seem to want to move that way. I have a lot of trouble with fan strumming too. Anyway, thought you did a great job. Thanks for sharing.

cauer2ParticipantHey Holly,
I like my uke too. I am super excited though, as I am expecting a new Pono delivered tomorrow. I had it set up low G. Can’t wait to get my hands on it. -
