gi_gi_Participant@the_bumble_bard Don’t get me started with the Drewmpa Loompas and the DNA that would be left on Andrew’s uke that was gonna be given away. He wound up pulling the uke from the challenge. We had the best laugh off of that one ππ€£πππ€£π

gi_gi_Participant@anyon1 Thanks so much for the compliment. I appreciate it. It’s hard to let the emotions show when a video is on you. I started to forget the video was on after a while βΊοΈ Gymnopedie is such a moving song in itself. I look forward to your St. James Infirmary. I just love how Evan plays it with such rhythm and soul. It’s a great piece.

gi_gi_Participant@leb397 Thanks so much. I agree with you @anyon1 That was wonderful the way you played House of the Rising Sun.
About the magnet…I did drop it a couple of times before I put my fingers inside the uke, under the E and A strings then dtopped the magnet inside my hand and slowly moved itnover π
I knew that was a Kamaka. It is gorgeous. Wow. Sounds good too. Those are very hard to find used. What a great find.August 3, 2026 at 5:00 am in reply to: Participate in the August 2026 Member Challenge β WIN $549 Kala Ukulele #84058
gi_gi_Participant@leb397 Hi Louisa, your chucking was good in last month’s submission. You got it. Your uke is pretty. Is it new?
I’m working on St. James Infirmary song for this month. Wish I could play it like @EvandaSilva. It’s unbelievable he could play so well at that tender age of 13. How he has grown now.

gi_gi_Participant@dianna Your hair is sooooooo beautiful. Amazing even π₯° I have my share of salt & pepper strands but they’re more visible in the sun π

gi_gi_Participant@Dianna Thanks so very much βΊοΈ So glad you were able to play this month. It’s always enjoyable to hear the submissions. Side note: your hair is sooo pretty. The color is beautiful.
@ukealori Beautiful uke. So glad you could play again. The uke has its small way in helping us through life’s struggles. Wishing you well.July 31, 2026 at 8:12 am in reply to: Participate in the July 2026 Member Challenge β WIN $549 Kala Ukulele #84021
gi_gi_Participant@otzepeng Hi Markus, thanks so much. I love it too. I can’t believe I have it. The way I was able to get it is because they allow you to pay as little as $100 a month until it’s paid off. You can choose if you pay more or less. I just couldn’t refuse that offer π It is offered at checkout.
@the_bumble_bard Yes I think I might try to play it at the Open Mic π Congrats on 4 yrs here. Great community indeed π₯°July 30, 2026 at 6:48 pm in reply to: Participate in the July 2026 Member Challenge β WIN $549 Kala Ukulele #84011
gi_gi_Participant@the_bumble_bard So good to see and hear from you. Glad you could do it.

gi_gi_Participant@otzepeng Thanks about my new Lout uke. I had been eyeing it for years now. They’re hard to find. I can’t believe how much resonance it had. I love it. Yes I recorded with only one mic. I started with two but after listening back I decided I only needed one since I wasn’t singing into the second mic. I put it on the right side because it was getting in my way on the left side. I set it to ‘without noise cancelling’ (blue). I really didn’t know what I was doing. I just hit the button and played πππ Those little mics are so easy to set up. Do you think I should’ve used both mics?
Great video on playing the uke with only the right hand π I will try it.

gi_gi_Participant@jody_hendrickson & @otzepeng Thank you so much for your kind words. I really appreciate them. I enjoyed both of your pieces as well. Very well played.
@otzepeng If I remember correctly you were the one to tell us about the Hollyland Lark mics. They’re amazing. Thanks for that tip. It’s so convenient and easier to use than an amp βΊοΈJuly 29, 2026 at 10:15 am in reply to: Participate in the July 2026 Member Challenge β WIN $549 Kala Ukulele #83991

I worked on GymnopΓ©die. It’s a song I always wanted to learn. Thanks @Steve for the beautiful arrangement and thanks @Andrew for this amazing platform.

gi_gi_Participant@shmu88 Sam that was amazing. That was my first choice of songs to learn but changed my mind within 30 minutes π That song is tough. You did a great job.
gi_gi_Participant@annyuke I had that happen to me and I took it to a nice music shop where they do all kinds of repairs. Hope you can find one.

gi_gi_Participant@katazumiri cute and fun. Enjoyed that.
@Brettboy I am so sorry to hear about your accident. We all understand how you feel in not wanting to miss but your health is more important. You get one chance to heal as best you can. Please make the most of it. We’ll be here when you get back. You will be missed.
@Marianne funny we chose the same song. Nice job as usual. Didn’t know you hurt your thumb or did I forget? Sorry about that.-
