Hey, yes, I have, at this point. My disclaimer is that when I first encountered bad feedback issues, I was over at a friend’s house using his pedals. He was the one that suggested I look into Feedback Busters, which come in stock sizes for guitar (made of rubber and look like ashtrays). I haven’t gotten back over to his house since I ordered and received my Luteholes to try them out with his pedals. He had one that I really liked, except for the feedback issue. All I can tell you at the moment is that the Lutehole covers are gorgeous (you have to order them custom sized for your uke) and look great on the uke, but am not sure if they will defeat the feedback problems I was having with my friend’s pedals. He doesn’t live close by, so I’m not sure when we’ll get together again. I did join the “pedal of the month” club at the local Rock-n-Roll Rentals shop and have tried some other pedals, but they didn’t cause any feedback. Unfortunately, the effects weren’t what I was hoping for, either. Anyway, once I get a better sense of how well the covers work, I’ll follow up with another post.

Hey, is anyone aware of any strings out there comparable to the Southcoast medium gauge? They were the best strings I’ve ever used – by far – and the company abruptly went out of business a few months back. I’ve tried a bunch, both before and after finding Southcoast, and nothing has come close, yet. Well, except for the Southcoast heavy gauge. Daddario, Martin, GHS, PHD, Romero, Oasis, Worth, Aquila Carbonblacks, Aquila Nylgut, Aquila Reds, Galli, and a couple more whose names don’t readily come to mind. I’m thinking about trying some of the Living Water strings, anyone have experience with those?

Too many great ones to have one favorite (imo), but a few more that are really awesome that I didn’t see mentioned already: Rob MacKillop, Samantha Muir, Troy Fernandez (REALLY surprised that nobody else mentioned Troy), Herb Ohta Jr, John King, Daniel Ward, Peter Moon, Daniel Ho, Florent Atem, Gordon Freitas, and Kimo Hussey.

    Hey,

My 5th (and most recent) uke is a Cordoba 35T-CES; couldn’t be happier with it. I think of it as my “Spanish” uke (Pepe Romero, Jr. designed it with an approach from a Spanish classical guitar building perspective). It’s very lightweight, has a Spanish heel neck joint and a little wider fingerboard versus my other ukes, which really helps with fingerstyle playing. Great sound, as well, it really resonates. My wife told me it is louder than my other ukes (she could hear the difference from another room). Anyway, it’s awesome and I’m about to jump into the “Spanish Ukulele” lesson with it, can’t wait!
