Here’s my shot at La Gitanita – I seem to play more fluidly when the recording isn’t going (LOL). It cut off the last chord. I found the thumb pick a little odd and occasionally missed and used my index finger which sounded better – not sure why.

Andrew – hope the video was better – it was shot on an iPad so…
Since most of my (limited) playing is strumming, these picking challenges are interesting.
Thanks,

gstriphMemberThis seemed surprisingly challenging compared with last month’s — not sure why… but it’s good to try things other than just strumming songs…

gstriphMemberHi Andrew –
Would you explain the (Gadd9) at the beginning of Etude 13? I can see the 1st string/10th fret from the chord — but the 2nd string/3rd fret isn’t part of the chord and the other strings are wrong earlier. In contrast, the next Cmaj7 seems to make sense (at least at the start of the measure).
Are these just the chords someone might strum in a duet? In some other fingerpicking exercises (like Daniel Ward’s arpeggio mediations that I’ve been working on) the chords are where you are actually picking and I was wondering why this is different.
Thanks,

gstriphMemberHi
I’m a new member and a beginner working through the beginner and fingerpicking courses.
It’s amazing how much harder it is when the camera is rolling LOL.
So, here’s my entry and stab at it — still a work in progress though!
