ParticipantFabulous! Working my way through it, currently, by practising on a Risa stick tenor (early morning!) and a Kanile’a pineapple tenor (my recording choice, should I manage it in time)

Participant…..a little hit and miss with me, but I’m sure it would settle in with more practice! Only 12 days left, mind.

Participant-
Prelude In C
At bar 23 Abdim7, I find that planting index on 1st string at the 3rd fret and the middle on the 4th string at the 4th fret, with the ring finger on the 2nd string, 4th fret; then using THe pinky between 1st and 3rd strings at the 5th fret, works well.

ParticipantToday’s triumph: on the Prelude in C, I have finally cracked the 8th fret bar on the 1st and 2nd string, in bar 2, without my ring-finger damping the 2nd string. I now have to move onto it smoothly from bar 1. A lot of work to do. Eeek!

Participant1. To not spread myself too thinly.
2. 1 song at a time (well, 1 on my soprano, another on my tenor, and another on my Low G tenor)
3. Work in parallel on developmental arpeggios
4. Boss the ropey chord changes. They will come and open up speed and confidence.
5. Record myself and schedule a performance in front of others in a club or with a small, safe group.
6. Finish pieces that I have part learnt and left hanging.
7. Start on my Christmas songs In August!hacksaw

ParticipantI was hoping to submit Summertime at the end of July, but had a last minute commitment, unfortunately. I thought that I’d made reasonable progress, however, I have introduced a metronome in ForScore at 70 bpm and have had a serious reality check as a result. I am improving slowly, but a definite case of 1 step back for 2 steps forward!

ParticipantFabulous stuff. And great inspiration to keep me practising, too!

ParticipantIt remains to be seen if it also acts as a springboard into a version of Wonderful World, of course! Let my challenge commence!

ParticipantI have a soprano Rebel Mango Double Creme. Ordered from Uke Republic, coincidentally. Sheer class, with great tone and punch. I live in the UK so had to juggle import taxes and exchange rate, but it came out slightly cheaper.
Anyhow, my ukulele quickening overrode my patience in waiting for a UK-based shop to order one in!
