I’m intrigued by the idea of playing an electronic Uke or one with a pickup but I have never played an electronically amplified instrument and have none of the equipment. I don’t really know what I need and don’t want to invest $$$$$ and then find out it’s not for me. What equipment do I need? Do I need an amp or is there a way to plug in directly to a computer to play and record? Thanks!
Thanks for another fun challenge, Andrew. Here’s my chopsticks entry. The high in the neck portion is still super tricky for me to play in time, so I cheated a little. I’ll keep practicing it. 🙂

I’m still working on mastering the timing and transitions, but wanted to go ahead and throw my hat in. Hopefully I’ll be able to post a second attempt before the end of the challenge. Andrew, I also really hope to someday get to the level you are talking about when you say this piece can,”be easily learned in an hour.” 😳 For me, it is taking closer to dozens of hours, but I am enjoying the process. Thanks to you and Uke Republic for the challenge!
So many great questions! I want ALL the answers. My question is about learning pieces of music. What is your process for learning a piece? I’ve been playing for a little over a year and it still seems like it takes forever for me to memorize songs. I know I probably need to move away from relying so much on looking at the page and instead use my memory and ear, but specific advice RE how to think about and do this for faster results would be much appreciated. Thanks!
