@The_bumble_bard, @misterbones I don’t know much about jazz. And the way Chet Baker sings (softly, quietly, serenely) reminds me more of Bossa Nova than jazz.
But I don’t know much about Bossa Nova either. I went to Wikipedia. And it says that Bossa Nova originated from the fusion of samba (or the slower Samba Canção) and “cool jazz.” Okay, I thought, what is “cool jazz”? It turns out it’s a genre of jazz where: “vibrato-free, often muted to breathy tone intonation”.So who do you think is a typical representative of “cool jazz”? It’s Chet-Baker.
Now I understand where I got the Bossa Nova association. 😂For further experiments, I used Matt Carlson’s recording (I hope he’s not offended, since I shifted the last A.H. by two bars).
Besides, I was in a dreamy, nostalgic mood and longed for railroad romance, so I browsed through photos with some connection to Tennessee.

@the_bumble_bard Ha ha. I only know this song from the radio. It’s Latin pop (Colombian) in Spanish, and it was a hit in the summer of 2005 in Germany. But you’re absolutely right about this song having great dance potential. It’s a popular choice for Zumba classes (a combination of aerobics and Latin dance elements).

And yes, working with a video editor can be stressful 😅 My video editor tends to shut down on its own (mostly when I get impatient and rushed). Then it’s interesting to know when I last saved my work. And how much do I need to redo?Hi everyone!
Here’s my result.
The original version was about 100 beats per minute, my version is 70, so significantly slower.Lead uke – there were double stop, slides, and pull-offs.
Rhythm uke – there were staccato eighth notes off-beat. I don’t know how good they work…
C-Recorder – the original key of F-sharp minor in the verse and F-sharp major in the chorus wasn’t very comfortable, so I transposed everything to E minor / E major.Have a nice day! 🙂

I think the guys used the “Hall” sound effect when recording the banjo and other string instruments.
Coffee (or its component caffeine) is quite an interesting thing. On the one hand, it’s credited with many positive properties. On the other hand, if there are contraindications, the negative effects may outweigh the positive expectations. So sometimes it’s easier to give up coffee or find a substitute.

Oh! When I read about the “vibrating phone sound,” I thought of Klangphonics. They play techno on anything they can get their hands on, including the ukulele and household appliances (everyday items). I’ll start a new thread so as not to clutter this one.
