katazumiriParticipantHello everyone!
Here is my attempt with “Theme to James Bond”.
I find this piece very interesting, but also difficult for me. It’s in 50% speed. Not everything worked out the way I wanted it to. At 35% speed the hit rate is higher 🙂 I’ll have to rework it, but I want to share it now.
Have a nice day!

katazumiriParticipantHello everyone!
Here is my “Moondance”.
When I was recording the dance, I thought about Felix Mendelssohn and his “Songs Without Words”. My dance is purely instrumental.
With this in mind, as well as the fact that I slowed down from 132 bpm to 90 bpm, I shortened the dance (did not repeat the verse and chorus).
Have a nice day!

katazumiriParticipant@robinboyd – You are very attentive!
That’s right, even though I’ve been here for over a year, I recently uploaded the picture. And yes, even if the spelling is a bit unconventional, “katazumiri” means snail.I had a friend who was interested in manga and anime. He believed that everyone should have a nickname. I invent a name. But he wasn’t happy with the sound of the name… We went to the library and found in a thick paper dictionary how to do it in Japanese. I copied the transcription from it. It was a Ukrainian-Japanese dictionary, so the transcription looked like this: “катацумiрi”.
Then I moved to Germany and rewritten my nickname in German phonetics. So I became “katazumiri”.
The google translator says it should actually be “katatsumuri”. But because I don’t know Japanese, I leave it as it is 🙂Best regards

katazumiriParticipantThanks for the feedback, Andrew!
Do you mean something like this?
Matt said (quote from “Learn 3 Japanese Inspired Songs”, 16:58 )
…one thing i want to say is when you´re playing this
there are rhythm markers for a reason
but if you´ve listened to Iroh in the show sing this… 🙂
play it from your heart
it´s okay to hold some notes a little bit longer have others go shorter
as long as you´re trying to create the sound
remember that this tune is really supposed to be simulating kind of an ancient folk song
and it´s not meant to be playrd with a band and a metronome
as much as it is to be played with rubato and feeling
so keep that in mind when you´re playing through it…Unfortunately, I didn’t see the cartoon and didn’t know that Iroh all the same can read sheet music and knows how to use a metronome 🙂
When I watch a video on YuoTube I take notations on the side, very old-fashioned, with a pencil (see Attachment).
It looks a bit messy, but I hope I haven’t put too many mistakes in it 🙂
Next time I’ll try not to lean too much on my heart, as it doesn’t really like syncopation and always simplifies everything.
Best regards
Lena
