olphartMemberOk, I’ve decided to upload this effort. It’s pretty bad, but every time I play it, I make a different mistake, or set of mistakes…very frustrating. Running out of time here..LOL
I will put up a better one once I get it working right.May 18, 2017 at 5:20 pm in reply to: Participate in the May 2017 Member Challenge – Classical Ukulele Challenge #11623
olphartMemberPhil, I didn’t think it was so bad…I wish my “Mountain king” was coming along that well!
I’m starting to get a little frustrated with it.
olphartMemberI just got a Cordoba 24B. Very, very pleased with it. Gorgeous uke, sweet mellow tone. it came very well set up, good intonation, nice action.
I’m just a beginner, but I spend way more time plucking and strumming away than I should.May 12, 2017 at 7:17 pm in reply to: Participate in the May 2017 Member Challenge – Classical Ukulele Challenge #11475
olphartMemberHi,
I’m working on In the Hall of the Mountain King, (The Pier Gynt Suite was the first classical music I enjoyed, waaayy back in my teen years, around 1957 I think).
Anyway, I was working with my tenor uke, but have switched over to a baritone, using the same fingering, so the actual chords are different. I play the g note from bar 5 and 7 as a d, plucked on fret 3 of the b string. That is the only real change I’ve made in the arrangement. To me it sounds right, though I admit that I’m a newby too with just under 3 months of Ukulele fever. (got into it by accident)
My question is, is this ok within the rules of the challenge?April 21, 2017 at 1:27 pm in reply to: You Choose: Our Next Giveaway Ukulele! (May 2017 Challenge) #11028
olphartMemberI think the Kala Pacific Walnut Tenor Ukulele would be a great prize!
