Hi Dirk. Thanks for your kind words. Henley-on-Thames is actually much closer to me than you imagined. It’s only fifteen kilometres away. My son want to college there.
Although I never met George Harrison myself, a pianist friend of mine knew him quite well. But I didn’t know that he was such a ukulele fan. Thanks for sharing that.
I completely agree with you though, ukulele is a total meditation for me too: a real blessing in these tricky times.
    Great to hear from you.

Thank you both very much. I really enjoyed it.

Why have I only just seen this? Holly, that was wonderful. Thank you for sharing your great talent.

Thanks very much, Debb. That’s really kind of you. You’ll have great fun with the Toccata. I loved learning it.

@cashmpe That’s so kind of you to post that. And thanks for your comments re the effects. I liked them but I think I’m going to dial them back juuust a little bit next time.

A full tutorial for the Toccata is on RC101 when you feel ready but don’t be discouraged if it feels a little out of reach right now. What you’re seeing comes at the end of a long ol’ road for me and I was often out of my depth.

Thanks again for your kind words. They really do mean a lot.

Thanks Nathalie. That’s lovely of you. It’s always a treat to hear you playing.

Thanks so much, Andrew. That’s really encouraging.

A “proper” musician friend of mine heard the Toccata and suggested that I try the Largo from Vivaldi’s Concerto in D major. She sent me the melody line in standard notation, which I could pick out with a little practice but it’s way beyond me to put a full arrangement together. I don’t know where the “suggestion box” is on RC101 but if you could maybe pop that one in for some dim and distant future date, that would be wonderful.

On a personal note, thank you for all the great work that you do with the site. In these difficult times, the joy of playing the ukulele can be a true refuge for a lot of people. I’m sure that sometimes you must feel the pressure of having to churn out such a huge volume of material to feed the hungry crowd. I’m also someone who has turned a hobby into a full-time career and I know that, as much as it’s a privilege to get paid for doing what we love, professional pressures can sometimes sap the joy.

I just wanted to let you know that what you are doing is so worthwhile and it means a lot to such a lot of people. Thank you.

Happy New Year, Andrew. Great to see that you are continuing to develop what is already a great site.
I have a small suggestion, which I think might be time-consuming rather than difficult to implement.
It would be useful to see what “Level” each song is at the search stage. I know that they are categorized into sections but, unless I’m missing something, I don’t think that you can see this information without trawling through the entire song list. It would be great if you could.
I hope that’s useful to you and, if it’s not possible, C’est la vie!

Merry Christmas everyone. I’ve made a donation to The Ukulele Kid’s Club. Hope you can too.
Here’s my attempt at Deck The Halls. Thanks Matt for a wonderful and quirky arrangement.

Thanks for the feedback Andrew. I’ve taken the strap off! Oh boy, do I have a lot of bad habits to unlearn!

Hi everyone, Here’s my attempt at “Toss A Coin To Your Witcher”. Sorry abut the sound quality. I thought I could get away without using a proper mic and I was wrong.

(There are some lovely performances uploaded so far. Tahnsk for sharing and well done to all who’ve taken part.)

First of all, can I say well done to everyone who’s submitted. I really love seeing everyone’s hard work paying off at the end of the month. Andrew, it must be a real thrill to see how many people you inspire to become better musicians. Thank you and well done for your hard work too. I really love this site and its community.
Here’s my attempt at Billie Jean. I’ve enjoyed a real love-hate relationship with Ol’ Billie this month. But, that said. we’ve certainly had a lot of fun together
At the beginning of the month, I thought that I was completely out of my depth and almost went for another song. But I practiced at least an hour every and, sure enough, by the end of the month I knew for certain that I was completely out of my depth.
On the plus side, I’ve identified some real gaps in my technique so it’s given me a good framework to move forward. So, every cloud.
I’ve just tried to watch it in this thread and there seems to be a bit of an error. If you struggle too, you can watch in directly on YouTube by using he link at the bottom of the window.
Here it is. Erm … enjoy?

    Great job. Well done.

@anirbaf. Great to hear from you and good luck with Billie Jean. You’re right. It’s such fun isn’t it … but man it’s killing me! Please tag me in when you post your entry. Things get busy on this forum towards the end of the month and I really don’t want to miss it. Good luck.

Really enjoyed seeing everyone’s entries so far this month. Well done to all.
I’ll be submitting my Billie Jean entry before the end of the month, so I’d love to see / hear how everyone else is getting on with it. This one’s right at the top edge of my ability. (Actually it’s way over the top edge of my ability but I’ve just counted up the hours that I’ve put into it so far … and it came to three million.) So I might juuuuuust about pull it off.
