MemberHi Miztaken. thank you for the compliments. That piece, Romance de Amour, took me about a week to practice. Still haven’t done the last third of the piece, I still want to get my timing right. and fingers still slip sometimes when playing.
I just don’t like the feel of that wounded C string. feels hard, might change that one string to a nylon one when I’m not too lazy to change. 😛

MemberThanks Kanae, Was actually looking at cutaways also but just stuck with the usual shape. 🙂

MemberThanks everyone. Will practice for the last monthly challenge. wasn’t able to join last month T_T

MemberI still need to practice it more and mainly using that piece to get my tempo better. The two monthly challenges i joined has the tempo as feedback so want to get better at the timing and the piece sounds nice and has a steady rhythm

Membersure, i’ll record some later. was practicing on something anyway so might as well put it up.
It sounds great. Although still getting used to that wounded C string. Just really feeling the difference between the other 3 nylon strings.

MemberHaha yes. One thing i notice is that it’s really better compared to my cheao uke. Glad i bought this and excited to buy something even better next year. Hopefully my skills will improve as well to justify the cost.

MemberYou can also contact Mim’s Uke on ebay or reverb. She can also create a video for demoing the different ukeleles you are interested in.
For what it’s worth, I just reserved a Pono ATPC (solid acacia, pro classic) and should be with me third week of December (loooong wait!!) Went with the Pono because I only heard good things about it and it looks great

MemberThanks!

MemberThanks Kayleigh. Can that be bought on amazon?

MemberThanks Andrew! seems like I need to play and study more. 🙂
oh, and the piece I remembered was Fingerpicking Etude 13. the second bar.

MemberThe first time a ukulele really made me say “Wow!” was when I saw a video of Honoka and Azita performing Bodysurfing. Didn’t know ukulele could be so cool, so I did a search for more ukulele videos on youtube and I found Jake. If Honoka and Azita made me say “Wow!”, Jake made me say “WOW!!!” and inspired to learn how to play one.
I put off buying a ukulele for a year I think but during that time, I always watch his videos and just leaves me speechless every single time.

MemberActually I just forgot the name but if i remember it right, one of the songs here has me playing the note “So” 3 times consecutively but i have to play the second So in the 4th string. So it starts with 2nd string So then 4th strng So then back to 2nd string So.
That’s why curious as to when t choose what string to use. I am assuming it has something to do with the chord played on the current bar like if it is touching the 4th string then use it.
