Happy belated birthday btw! π The shirt’s awesome!
The only funny thing that was given to me, that’s now music related is a little plastic blue cat about the size of a guitar pick that came from a gumball machine. I keep it in my pick/accessory bag so if anyone takes it out I can run with the “Who let the cat out of the bag?” jokes.
August 30, 2020 at 8:33 am #40615becky7777ParticipantHappy Onam to anyone celebrating with their families today! Be safe enjoying the festivities!
July 21, 2020 at 2:22 pm #39767becky7777ParticipantNice guys! Thank you for sharing it Greg
June 22, 2020 at 6:41 am #38810becky7777ParticipantAwesome everyone! π Thank you for sharing here Andrew! Can’t see anything on Facebook.
June 19, 2020 at 4:44 pm #38742becky7777ParticipantI’m enjoying Justinguitar.com and his forum. He has a lot of resources free of charge and appreciates donations. His forum is supportive and kind. Justin is testing his redone course currently by relearning guitar left handed and sharing the videos of the practice. I “tested” into roughly his intermediate stuff coming from here, but there was/is gaps I’m filling in.
Truefire has great stuff. Their site crashes my tablet loading the sheet music and video but it’s worth checking out. Lots of great players made courses there like Tim Sparks.
Zombie Guitar has great the videos on YouTube for theory. He explains concepts well in my opinion. I’m broke so I couldn’t try his paid content on his website.
Fret Jam also has really good vids for theory. I don’t know if they have a website. I never looked.
MT Guitar is a new YouTube channel. He’s doing daily lessons and is currently taking song requests. (I’m working on mine right now, which I knew would be difficult, but it’s turning out do-able!!!ππ) His lessons are presented mostly intermediate, similar to Andrew’s more advanced older lessons currently so some knowledge is required.
Those are my top guitar guys currently.
June 13, 2020 at 4:37 pm #38633becky7777ParticipantThank you Kanae, π Bookmarked.
These things are super helpful if I find a weird fingering I like while noodling around.
I haven’t gotten to the point of figuring out the names of weird ones by myself yet.

May 9, 2020 at 5:11 am #37674becky7777ParticipantNice. You did pretty well on it actually. This song was part of a challenge btw. It wasn’t too terribly long ago, but I don’t remember which month it was offhand. It was around the time the video was published to YouTube though.
If it would help, you could check performances and feedback in that thread for tips and tricks.
I’m just a student too, so take this feedback with a grain of salt. It’s 4am here too. (So yes, May the 4th be with you! π)
When you’re practicing to clean things up, maybe break it down melody by melody. Focus on bits that you’re having the most trouble with in small phrases, or just a couple bars at a time.
At the end of the first melody, you pause. Be careful not to practice in the pause. It’s really hard to get rid of them once they’re in there. (Ask me how I know. π)
Not sure if any of that helps. It’s pretty general advice.
Best wishes
April 24, 2020 at 8:15 am #37101becky7777Participant@mr_moltes – You might want to contact some luthiers near you and see what they charge.
Found this, there’s other ones that came up doing a search. Depending on how much your uke costs to replace vs how much the repair is, you may want to try the repair yourself. (if repairs in your area would cost more than the ukulele, and you’re kind of handy with wood. The luthier in the video below quoted someone in the comments $400 in 2018 for the same repair on the guitar, but he’s addressing fixing the finish too. Repair is probably quoted case by case)
April 13, 2020 at 8:03 am #36836becky7777Participant@propsfpv -Congrats on jumping into the challenges! I did too and it really helped to motivate me. π you’re way better than I was 2 days after starting to play btw! I’d feel pretty happy if it were me.
Constructive criticism, hopefully gentle π – The note at the very end, before the foot tapping, was the only awkward sounding note? It sounded like it didn’t belong or disjointed maybe? Otherwise nicely played.
Don’t forget to get a free YouTube for video, or SoundCloud account for audio-only, to link your full entry.
(Andrew and Stephen can help more with feedback if they can see you play btw. You can remove your head from video shots for privacy.)
You just need to paste the “share” link from YT or SC in its own paragraph. Whichever player, embeds automatically so we don’t have to download.
Anyways welcome! π
April 7, 2020 at 12:35 am #36719becky7777ParticipantLoving everyone’s entries!
Lars, Hope you still join in, they disappeared. That window in the background was beautiful btw! π Your uke sounds beautiful in that room.
To everyone:
My friend sent me this today. π It made me laugh. Family is getting restless not being able to get out.
April 3, 2020 at 12:26 pm #36635becky7777ParticipantBill Withers passed away at 81. Revisited your performance as well as Andrew’s band arrangement. π
April 3, 2020 at 12:02 pm #36629becky7777Participant@tric_o_tronic – Side note, you wanted ABBA. Can’t pm you, but here you go. Mike makes super awesome arrangements and free tab for them. He just posted this. Surprised he doesn’t have more subscribers!!
Link to his tab: (but give him some YouTube love too if you like it)
