Added Loke Lani to my repertoire, in addition to Day-O. I’m still trying to perfect it but happy with the progress and hope to try Hone A Ka Wai and some of the other Hawaiian song lessons.

@robinboyd – Thanks for the message of support, the part I am finding the hardest at the moment is the “Triplette” section in the intro. I have time to practice but I want to get that section under my belt. RobinBoyd I saw your video and…… very nice mate.

Ok don’t be too harsh but here is the progression so far. Received my 1st Ukulele 2 days ago and I have no previous Ukulele or instrument experience. Managed to record my progression with Day-O Melody A on my phone. This is the section that I am finding to be the most difficult at the moment. I have learnt the rest as well but still need to practice it a bit.

@propsfpv -Congrats on jumping into the challenges! I did too and it really helped to motivate me. 🙂 you’re way better than I was 2 days after starting to play btw! I’d feel pretty happy if it were me.

Constructive criticism, hopefully gentle 🙂 – The note at the very end, before the foot tapping, was the only awkward sounding note? It sounded like it didn’t belong or disjointed maybe? Otherwise nicely played.

Don’t forget to get a free YouTube for video, or SoundCloud account for audio-only, to link your full entry.

(Andrew and Stephen can help more with feedback if they can see you play btw. You can remove your head from video shots for privacy.)

You just need to paste the “share” link from YT or SC in its own paragraph. Whichever player, embeds automatically so we don’t have to download.

    Anyways welcome! 🙂

@becky7777 Thanks for that. I appreciate the feedback. I already have a YT channel from another hobby, but I will use it when I post the full song.

    Cheers again.

lildevil – beautiful playing, Barbara! Love the laid-back feel and coupled with your shirt, it really makes me think of Hawaii 🙂

johanna2509 – your triplet technique is phenomenal! But I do have one critic. I’d say you nailed it 75% of the time. So what I would work on is getting the execution consistent, so we get that number closer to 100%.

And super cool to see Berny’s uke 🙂

alex2531255 – Excellent playing! Great note clarity and sustain. And I LOVE the birds in the background – it makes the ambience of this piece so beautiful!

cncamacho – I thought you did a great job! Timing sounds great as does the triplet strum 🙂

propsfpv – Sounds good so far! I do think Loke is easier, so you may want to work on that one as well.

laurasil – Bravo! You did so well on everything, especially that solo! I’m impressed 🙂

The only thing I can suggest is to play along with Evan in the tab player. That’s always a great way to practice!

@hiloukes – Well done! Here are my two tips for you 🙂

    @willymac
    – I love the arpeggiated strum, Brian! Great feel in this take, too!

First of all thanks Andrew for your feedback!
I watched the tutorial again after your video and saw Christopher is actually holds his first finger on the G string 1st fret while playing the A string open, then puts his second finger on the G string 4th fret. I did this with the third finger instead of two because i couldn’t reach properly like that 😄. And this made moving down harder. I guess that move was more appropriate for sopranos not for concerts. So i tried what you said and it’s totally easier now!
And i tried Gdim7 with four fingers and sound is more clear like that.
Thank you so much for advices. Helped me a lot!
And thanks Chris of course, for his nice tutorial 😊

So many lovely versions of Home A Ka Wai. Thanks everyone.

@lauralsil – love your version of bodysurfing. I’m working on that, but frankly am only learning one solo, and learning the backing for the other uke. So really impressed with how you put it together for a single solo. (I’m also keeping Home A Ka Wai as a fall back position!!! )

    Hi,
First time I participate in the challenge.
I gave Day-O a quick try. Made a mistake near the end, that’s why it’s edited. I am not 100% satisfied with it, but I am trying my best.
