    Hey,

Thanks for that everyone. It hasn’t really felt like a lot of work, since I like to practice, but it took a while for sure, especially in 10 minute intervals 🙂

Anyhow, this arrangement is by Samantha Muir, she has an internet presence, and I somehow bought the sheet music for this arrangement. There are several others which you can get for free, including in the John King book, which is the closest to this one I think.

Since this music has so much depth I think it’s a great piece to work on, as there’s so much to do with it. And it has improved my playing a lot I have to say. Nevertheless, still a long way to go 🙂

Thanks for the feedback. The buzzing is not that bad off-video 🙂 I will try to play more slowly to practice those transitions.

Hello everyone & happy holidays with my slightly messed up rendition of Deck the Halls. Fingers are crossed 🙂

I also donated 10$ to the Uke Club.

So here is a slightly improved version of my submission. Gave it a bit of rest, it’s now I think a bit more fluid, but a little less clean.

Anyhow, when I sometimes hit it right it sounds lovely, so I’ll keep at it 🙂

    Thanks RC101.

So, I kind of hate to admit it, but I’m really struggling with this one. Spent an inordinate amount of time on this one and I have not been able to memorize it. It’s the first song I am posting where I’m reading the tabs while playing.

Anyhow, this is somehow much more difficult than I expected. I struggle to get the sound that I want and since the bars are basically all the same I always mess it up when playing from memory :/

I might try to upload something on the last day, but now I definitely need a break from this one. There are parts of it that sound really beautiful when I play them and this is definitely not a great take, but quite symptomatic of lots of small mistakes at different places. Somehow I can’t seem to get this one properly together, it’s always just short of what I would want…

Thanks for the feedback, Steven. I am now trying to play St. Annes Reel and its also difficult. But hopefully soon I’ll be able to play it somehow 🙂 Is there any other easy song you would suggest is well suited to play with this triple pick approach?

    Hello Rockclass,

I finally managed to get the video posted, I tried to keep the video on the right hand too.

Anyhow, this has been a real struggle for me, very very difficult, especially since my normal triplet strum is the index-down, thumb-up, index-up approach.

Anyhow, I love St. Annes Reel and Out in the North, so this will put those in reach with lots of practice.

I appreciate the feedback, and of course the chance for the uke 🙂 It seems to me that this comes easier to some than others 😀 I am definitely amont the others.

Thanks Andrew for the feedback. Haven’t really thought about ‘singing’ out loud, but I will definitely try, since I hummed the other piece a lot, so that might have helped.

I just noticed that I have confused the pull-off with a slide and did something weird, but it was too late to re-learn it so I sticked with it. I think it doesn’t sound too bad 🙂

And congrats to the guys who submitted originals, I was very impressed. I guess it will be a while for me before I could write a real song.

    Hello everyone,

Here is my sadly a little lackluster version of the classical etude.

Theme 2 gave me quite a bit of trouble, surprisingly so 🙂 What I see is that I should play it much slower… but then it doesn’t feel right. Hence little pauses and irregularities.

Wanted to post a challenge video, since I haven’t done so in a while. Andrew you provide great motivation with these challenges, especially with the next one on the triple picking thing. I’ll try to give that one a go as well.

Best of luck to you all,

    Daniel

    Hey!

Since the pandemic is still in full swing there has been no wedding. Nevertheless I have revisited this song, which I have grown quite fond of 🙂

I think there is improvement, wanted to show off a bit, since it’s been my 1st RC101 anniversery.

    Cheers

    Hey,

Recently on Matts live lesson he played a little bit of the Bach BWV1007 Cello prelude. I think he should totally make a tutorial on that one, it sounds fantastic on uke. There are a couple of great interpretations on youtube, here is my favorite one:

Ok… so I will attempt Stairway to Heaven. It’s way above my paygrade though, so will see how far I can get. Just the stretch 272 is mind boggling.

Hopefully it will be submittable, there is still time 🙂
