Here is my entry for the June challenge.
In the solo, I played the tremolo picking with my thumbnail. I never used this technique before so it was nice to work a new skill.

@madhuri – Beautifully played, Madhuri! My only suggestion is to loop bars 18 to 19 and 22 to 23 in the tab player. I noticed a little bit of rushing in these sections, and playing along with Matt will help you perfect the phrasing. Keep up the great work!

When I first stumbled through Yellow Submarine, I thought, “Matt said this is supposed to be a fun little song???!?” But once I got my fingers doing what they were supposed to do, and fairly consistently, I had to agree: this is a fun little song. Especially since it got my brain looking back through some very dusty old files, to find that the lyrics I used to sing along to some decades ago are still mostly there. I was tempted to sing along now, but my fingers still need most of my focus.

I have a permanent association with that song of the cartoon Yellow Submarine though, and it makes me think of the “blue meanies” and how scared I was of them as a child (and probs still as an adult). 😂 Really beautifully played though! 😊

We’re in the home stretch of this challenge, so many crazy good takes of these songs!! So glad to be a part of this community. 😊💕

Hi everyone,
Again great songs to pick. I chose “Mad world”. My camera couldn’t really catch the little light I had, so I added some extras. 😀 But it’s a hot night, too warm to stay inside, so I had to cope with the dark. 🙂

@The_Bumble_Bard Thanks for your kind comments. Funny, I’d forgotten about the Blue Meanies – my most vivid memory of that movie is a bunch of us running through the late-night city streets afterward, feeling positively exhilarated!

Hello from Kunming, China–Traveling this month made this a challenge, but it was fun to learn an old favorite (thanks Matt!). And FYI, it’s a fun song to teach to Chinese ELS students, especially the chorus!
