Hi there, now that was quite a choice. So many brilliant songs! I pretty much enjoyed your submissions. And here is mine. I chose Blue Moon and left Moon River for later when I’m more advanced. 🙂

bethany_guardianiParticipant@gi_gi_ thank you! In a nutshell, when I record I use a mic and preamp system that connects in with my camera and allows me to record decent audio quality while recording my video. But after I’m done recording, I do some basic tweak in GarageBand iOS (not that I have a great understanding of what I’m doing mind you lol…I just try to make minor adjustments to improve the overall quality and try to get the tone right) on my iPad and then sync it back up to my video.
To be honest, it’s really just a lot of unnecessary work most of the time lol, but it is something I enjoy doing as kind of a side hobby almost.
PS. @Andrew told me I should just say it’s magic 😉

jbmills07ParticipantHello! I’m very new here and I have noticed many others are adding to their posts “I am a premium member” and often times in caps. Is this something I should also do? Or it not actually necessary?
Thank you 🙂Justin

jbmills07ParticipantThank you! I do apologize for my ignorance! I honestly thought I had throughly read the instructions, like multiple times lol! But somehow I just missed that! Couldn’t figure out how to edit my post, so I reposted. Hopefully that’s ok!
Thanks again,

Here is my recording of Moon Waltz, apologies for the sound quality….my aged computer is not recording so well anymore. Good luck everyone, Tim.

AndrewKeymasterHere’s everyone on page 8.
ldarrow – I definitely think she would have loved it. You played it absolutely beautifully, Linda 🙂
lisadmh – That was fantastic, Lisa! Big improvement over the drafts that I heard from you earlier this month. I think you’ve got the timing down, it sounded spot-on! Your phrasing sounds great! Which is such a big part of soloing!
Remember, we don’t want to compare ourselves against others. Rather, we want to aim to be better than we were yesterday. Once again, the drafts I heard earlier this month compared to where you’re at now is a big improvement! Well done!
terryfallon3 – Here’s my feedback for you 🙂
seoulkim – You’re playing sounds wonderful! But I do have two tips for you. The first one is to slow the tempo down. This is one of those songs where the music breathes and flows better at a slower pace.
Secondly, take a moment to review this lesson. It’ll explain the difference between playing with a straight versus a swung feel. For this one, you want to play with a little bit more of that swing feel.
henri0 – That was awesome, Rhian! I dig the upbeat tempo. Works really well with this tune 🙂
akukes73 – Very well played! So you want to double check the rhythm on some of those measures where there’s a dotted quarter note. So: 10, 12, and 14 for example.
We naturally want to play them as all quarters. But those middle notes should last an extra eighth note (beat and a half total), with the last note being an 8th.
bethany_guardiani – Here’s my feedback for you 🙂
simonalexander – It’s amazing how playing it with a different feel gives the arrangement such a different sound. I dig it and I love when you guys take it and make it your own 🙂
felixhchan – Awesome job! For the first measure, make sure that you’re playing that first hit as a quarter note. This measure also pops up again in the arrangement.
I’d also recommend slowing the tempo down. This is one of those songs where the music breathes and flows better at a slower pace. You may also want to play along with Matt in the tab player. His performance will act as a guide and help keep you a bit more consistent with your timing.
kidelozzi – Here’s my feedback for you and the lesson I referenced 🙂
lhamilton – Here’s my feedback for you 🙂

lhamiltonParticipantThanks Andrew! I’ll try that — it had been bothering me that my pulloffs were rather short. I was a bit nervous, so it got even worse.

rickeymikeMemberWow, everyone is doing so well!
Ibilkie: try mixing up the strum. Instead of always down strumming with your index nail throw in some softer sounding strums with the skin of your thumb
jb: well played! and welcome to Premium
Patrice: Sweet!
Joel: nice! I think we all need to work on softer strums. ha
