Wonderful playing, Maureen! The only suggestion I have for you was the same as for Lisa. Which was to try to lighten up the picking attack, which should produce a softer, sweeter tone. Give that a shot and let me know if you hear a difference 🙂
Like Koa, Milo is indigenous to Hawaii 🙂 The top is curly redwood. I chose this wood combo as they generate warm, mellow tones – a great contrast from the brightness of my Koa Kanile’a.
Thx for vid, kay! So the 2nd and 4th time, you can hear/see you are pulling off with less force; as such, it sound more even. I’d remove the other notes and just practice the 3 note pull-off with a focus on reducing the pull-off force off the last note.

Glad to hear you enjoy it! I’m a theory nut, I too find it fascinating. I think I’m releasing The Walking Dead theme as this week’s lesson. It’s only 3 chords, but the theory behind the progression is very interesting and the lesson will touch on it 🙂
Lovely playing on Etude #13, Lisa! Great work, it def sounds more relaxed. The only suggestion I have, is to lighten the attack of the right hand plucking. I think that may “sweeten” the tone. Give it a shot and see if you hear a difference.

Hi Paul, so in bar 4, you are playing out of a stock F: 2010 to a stock G: 0232.
For F, you do not need to finger the 4th string, as there is nothing played on that string, so in reality, all you need to finger is: X010 – using the index finger for string 2.

Hi Jerry, it’s a chord that works over the melody. But, as you pointed out the notes of the melody vary from that chord, so you could really play a few variations of G over it, or just the standard G.

Concert size is closer in timbre to soprano than tenor. Soprano has the “traditional” uke tone, which I very much dig! But, it’s all personal preference, there is no right or wrong.
