Thank you for the feedback Stephen.
Rhythm is something I struggle with quite often. I had tried playing with a metronome prior to recording, but it didn’t seem to help. Since then I’ve managed to get down the rhythm on those measures.

So here’s my entry. Apologies for the noise in the background.

I didn’t have much time to practice this piece and it definitely shows. I could’ve done a much better job with the timing but oh well.
(Also, my hands were very sweaty during the recording, it’s currently quite hot where I live and we don’t have AC.)

Thank you Andrew for this contest and good luck to all of you!

This is my performance of ‘I have a little dreidel’. I recorded this roughly a week ago, but I never got round to posting it as I was quite busy. But the time has finally come.
It’s definitely not perfect, as you can see, I still had some trouble transitioning to the G chord, it didn’t sound as clear as I’d like it to be, but other than that, it’s fine I guess. I’ll definitely do another recording, once I find the time, probably after Christmas, but as of now, I’ll leave you with this.
    Happy holidays!

Thank you Andrew! I still feel like I could have done a better job, but if you like it, then I must be doing something right. I’m also happy that you find it worthy of posting on your social media, certainly didn’t expect that, next time I’ll have to put a bit more effort into the video and audio quality. 😀

    Hi guys,

this is my performance of La Gitanita. Unfortunately, I only got a couple of days to practice this piece, so it’s not the best, and even though it took me a million takes to get it right, there still are some mistakes here and there and it is kind of sloppy, but this is probably the best I can do right now.

(I included video as well this time, but it’s kind of crap as it was already dark outside, hope you don’t mind the bad quality)

Memorising the piece wasn’t as difficult as I thought it’d be, in fact, I’m pretty sure I had it memorised before the video tutorial had even ended, but playing it perfectly is, of course, a completely different story.

Well, the song choices for this month are very interesting. Unfortunately, I’ve been experiencing some wrist pain on my fretting hand and decided to give myself a break so I won’t be able to practice for some time. Hopefully I’ll still be able to complete this months challenge.

That being said, I would love to play “Moon”, but I don’t have a low G ukulele and tuning my high G string an octave lower probably wouldn’t work, would it? Guess I’ll have to settle with La Gitanita.

Anyway, this is a pretty long post already, but before I end it I’d like to give my thanks to this community. I’m a fairly new member and I don’t even have premium membership (yet), but I still very much appreciate all the work you guys put into this, helping not only beginners, but advanced ukulele players get better at playing their instrument. Not to be too cheesy, but I really feel like home here, seeing all these different people come together to play their ukes. It really is a beautiful site.

    Well, here goes nothing

This is my performance of The Walking Dead Theme, I don’t have the best ukulele (that’s why I’m participating) or best recording equipment, so apologies for the quality and background noise, but I did try my best.
Good luck to everyone else taking part in this contest!
