gi_gi_Participant@nelsonlin2021 your playing was incredible. I enjoyed it so much.
@leb397 Thx. My little uke is my travel uke that I keep in the car and take on vacation. It can easily go to the beach, etc. Got it from Uke Republic when visiting some friends last year. Best way I’ve been able to get my ukes are through the Shop App feature that most uke stores have at checkout. It allows you to pay off the uke in 6 months or less with no additional fees ☺️ You can extend it longer but that comes at a little fee I think.March 31, 2024 at 1:16 pm in reply to: Participate in the March 2024 Member Challenge: Irish Songs! #61075March 31, 2024 at 12:45 pm in reply to: Participate in the March 2024 Member Challenge: Irish Songs! #61071

gi_gi_Participant@The_Bumble_Bard 10 takes?! 😂🫣🤣🫣 I would be over the moon if it took 10 takes. I kid you not, it was an exorbitant amount. I can’t count them all that’s why I said 1 million and 11 😂😂
I feel so disengenious to post that one take without sharing all the whoas it took to get that one or two takes. I tried about 50 more times after that take and just settled with that one Mamma mia🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️. I wasn’t going to submit anything this month. I decided I didn’t have the time, hadn’t practiced except the first part earlier in the month, yada yada. When I realized that noone had submitted the Irish Washerwoman on Friday (I called it the Irish Waterwoman in my title by mistake 🙂 I made myself finish learning it. That’s prob why it took so many takes. I didnt have much time practicing it. I’m happy with it and will continue to up the speed. When you see how fast Andrew plays it it’s mindblowing 🤯🤯🤯 That’s why he’s the Keymaster here ☺️.
Thanks for your compliments. You’re the sweetest 🥰March 30, 2024 at 10:03 pm in reply to: Participate in the March 2024 Member Challenge: Irish Songs! #61064
gi_gi_ParticipantThe Irish Waterwoman after 1 million and 11 takes ☺️

@leb397 Your playing was beautiful. Reading about your Mom made me cry. So sorry for your loss. Moms are special 🌹🌹🌹March 20, 2024 at 9:18 am in reply to: Participate in the March 2024 Member Challenge: Irish Songs! #60953

gi_gi_ParticipantIf you’re a beginner and feel stuck don’t give up. I’m always amazed at how quickly my brain kicks in if I don’t give. The monthly challenges have given me the opportunity to try new things and to have a deadline to work towards. As the saying goes, “I’ve never seen anyone fail that hasn’t given up”.
gi_gi_ParticipantGreat conversation. Thx for asking and thanks sharing.

gi_gi_Participant@Brettboy that’s an amazing story of how you started to play the uke. I too started with the guitar first. A friend saw my guitar on the wall during a Zoom Meeting and asked about it. I said I was teaching myself guitar. He insisted I try the ukulele. He kept saying he knew I would fall in love with it. He said his Mom played and taught him and he used to sell them on Ebay. He said he would have his wife drop one off at my home if I would agree to give it a try. This was during Covid and he was sooooo right. I fell in love with it in about 3 days 😂😂😂. I neglect all my other instruments now (the guitar, piano and violin). The uke chose me ☺️

gi_gi_ParticipantOh my goodness guys @brettboy and @deadbuggy I’m looking over what I want to learn this morning and started to learn The Irish Waterwoman but after hearing your renditions of the Red Rose I now want to change ☺️
@Brettboy How long have you been playing ukulele? It’s so impressive that you haven’t missed a challenge in 7 years and it shows. You have great showmanship as well. I’m coming up on 3 years of playing in a couple of months so this encourages me to keep going. Can’t wait till I’m as comfortable as you are.Question: have you found it gets easier to learn and remember songs the longer you play?
@the_bumble_bard I can’t wait to see what you have up your sleeve 😂 I know it will be great.
@leb397 I won’t be singing this time. I’m in a cunundrum as to what I want to play now 😂 I was thinking the Irish Waterwoman so I could impress my Irish friends but the Red Rose is beautiful too. I think I will stick with the jig song. It’s so cool.March 3, 2024 at 4:11 am in reply to: Participate in the February 2024 Member Challenge – Choose ANY Ukulele Song! #60793

gi_gi_Participant@johanna2509 You could also add your money to it and get a really nice uke ☺️.
