jgillardMemberBeautifully played! The only thing Iβd do diff is put more emphasis on the rit. at the end of bar and 8, as well as, the end of the song.
@andrew, I did not even realize there was supposed to be a ritando in bar 8! π I’ll definitely repost this one soon. Thanks for the tips!March 11, 2023 at 12:41 pm in reply to: Participate in the March 2023 Member Challenge: WIN Classical Ukulele! #56740
jgillardMembersounds pretty perfect to me! First take β amazing
Thanks! π Usually it takes me many more takes to get something I don’t mind posting…

jgillardMemberNot perfect, but this was my first take. If I have time, I’ll post an update later this month! Hopefully I can smooth some things out.
Thanks for watching!

jgillardMemberThere should be a ukulele anxiety thread where everyone can vent about their various struggles like these. ππ
As soon as the camera starts recording, my playing goes from hero to zero in short order! π
It’s even worse if I have to play in front of people. I don’t do it enough to condition myself to the experience. I’m also way to hard on myself. I strive for perfection instead of having fun with it. Definitely something I need to work on more and more!!As for memorization, I will try and memorize any song I’m working on. Depending on my overall interest in the song, I may forget it in short order. But if I want to play it again in the future, it does not take me too long to get it back in the short term memory. Those that I play every day will stick around a lot longer. But if I stop playing them, I’ll forget them and have to polish them back up. I don’t have too large of a repertoire at the moment. That will build up over time I’m sure!

jgillardMember@katazumiri, both of your swan lake submissions are awesome! Great job!
jgillardMember@The_Bumble_Bard, thanks for the feedback! I’m not happy with the slight hesitations on chord changes in the “Melody B” section.. It’s something to work on! π
jgillardMemberHere is my take from the RockClass version! π

jgillardMemberFor this one, Iβd recommend practicing slower and focusing on transitioning between the A and B Melody (and B to A) without losing time.
For sure! π I’ll definitely post a revised one of this ML004 once I put a bit more time into it! Thanks for watching and the advice to improve. Much appreciated!

jgillardMemberThis is NOT for entry because I already own this monthβs prize! Itβs a fantastic uke, by the way, and tons of fun to play.
If you win, you can donate it to someone! Or have a backup! π It’s such a cute little Uke for sure!! Nice job on the celtic mini lesson. Sounds great!
