jgillardMemberAny suggestions?
Your right hand looks very tense. I can see why your wrist feels sore after playing. Hopefully @Andrew has some suggestions for you. What I would suggest is don’t plant your wrist, and during practice slow WAAAAY down. Like way slower than you think. Actively think about relaxing your hand. Since you are playing SUPER slow, you will have the time to do this. You want no tension in that hand. I hope this helps! 🙂

jgillardMemberI’m going to try and do all of these over the month. Here is ML002. I had practiced this one previously so I already knew it. I did hold out a couple notes so it’s not perfect to the music, but sounds ok I think anyways 😛
Next up, I’ll post ML001! 🙂-

jgillardMemberYour ukulele has a wonderful tone!
What make and model is it?This ukulele is: The Rebel double-creme-matte-concert
The more recent versions of this model have the ebony faceplate instead of the mango faceplate which mine has.
jgillardMemberThat sounded really amazing! 🙂 Awesome job 4 sure!

jgillardMemberI also noticed that the other members YouTube videos showed up as embedded in the post but mine only shows the link.
Did you add the link as a hyperlink? Don’t do that. Just add the link as text and it will auto-convert to an embedded youtube clip.

jgillardMember@johanna2509 Nice job on Etude #3. Sounds great. Nice and smooth.
@deadbuggy your Etude #6 was well played. I’ll have to try and learn this one 😛January 15, 2023 at 1:20 pm in reply to: Participate in the January 2023 Member Challenge: WIN Mainland Ukulele! #55724
jgillardMember@starry, you said “My fingerpicking seems more jumpy than others. Is there a trick to be smooth and effortless?” I don’t hear this in your recording at all. It sounds smooth to me. The only thing to note is that you did not play the repeat at the end of bar4. So your performance is missing bars 1 to 4 repeated! 🙂 But it sounded good regardless! Nice job.

jgillardMemberHere is my Fingerpicking Etude No. 12. It definitely does not have quite the tempo of Andrew’s performance… 🙂

jgillardMember@Andrew – Thanks… I know I don’t look “happy”.. That’s just me concentrating. 😛 I do actually know how to smile. 🙂 Got to work on that “performance” aspect.
