ParticipantI’d love a lesson on arranging songs, original or not. Maybe seeing someone else do it from the beginning would help a lot to understand how to apply the theory we learn on the course (pick a key, pick a progression, etc…).
Also, I’d love some more of those strumming lessons!
Edit: Ohhh and also a duet lesson! With another uke or piano as accompaniment, maybe?
Btw thank you for all you guys did for us this year, this is the best community ever. I never would have thought I’d learn this much about the uke and music in general

ParticipantThank you Andrew!!!!

ParticipantI sometimes have a hard time connecting all of the theory in my head as well. This looks very useful to go over some stuff and learn new things. Thanks Becky!

Participant@robinboyd I bought a new one and restrung that one, so I kept both ukuleles (I didn’t want to let go of the classic sound the other one has). There are never too many ukes 🙂

I finally got a Low G and I’m in love! The sound is so rich, I can finally learn some songs I REALLY wanted to play. Here is Greensleeves, which I think is beautiful

ParticipantThanks Andrew! The hardest thing was playing the three parts back to back. My fingers got nervous, if that makes any sense. Wish I had had more time for the submission, but I will practice it throughout this month

Recording this frustrated me more than I care to admit because once I started recording my fingers started fumbling and each time I made a mistake that distracted me and had to start again. I wish I had more time, but oh well, this was a hard song, and it makes me excited to know I can play one of the greatest songs out there. Evan, I admire you so much (and thanks to Andrew for your wonderful guidance)

ParticipantHere is my second attempt. I tried implementing dynamics and have to admit it isn´t easy, I always tend to focus on hitting the notes but have never given much thought to this, probably because I thought it was for professional musicians. I still have to practice, but I do kind of think this one sounds less mechanical than my first sumbission
