    I really enjoyed learning this piece! This is the first one with a backing track that I could play with. It is such a haunting melody and so many skills to learn with this one.
    I wish the backing track had recorded louder. I didn’t realize it wasn’t very loud until I uploaded and again, I apologize for the chirping noises in the background. I think they really liked this one!
    I would still appreciate it if AJ could post the piano score with this one when he gets the time so I can play the piano part. I just love the way this piece sounds. I followed your advice for the chords from the tutorial, but I’m someone who needs the sheet music to follow. 🙂

    I am continuing to try and improve Lacrimosa, but couldn’t help but learn the Stranger Things theme after seeing all the awesome performances from @everyone! And people weren’t lying about the difficulty of the right hand! I really struggled (and continue to struggle lol) with that!

    @The_Bumble_Bard
    yes… i do indeed have 4 cats! lol. The area I am in has a lot of strays unfortunately, and I have multiple times found litters of kittens abandoned. 2 of which were so young I had to do the whole bottle-feeding thing and all that! Their eyes were still sealed! Those 2 kittens were actually found by my dog in small, wooded area behind my house. I’m more of a dog person really, buuuut you tend to get attached when you bottle feed them. Most I find homes for, but 4 have remained lol 🙂
    Finally, @Andrew I have taken your advice into consideration as I have continued to practice, so thank you! I for sure struggle with pulled down on the strings during certain cord positions, and I struggle with my pull offs lacking finesse. I am trying to concentrate on not pulling off as aggressively. Luckily, I think Stranger Things was a great exercise in working on the pull off!

    Hello all!

    Joining the Lacrimosians this month. I really wanted to try this amazing arrangement and since it’s for low G it seemed like a good chance to bring forth the uke I won from here in July. That electric uke is the only low G uke I have. I saw @lhamilton also took this approach and your performance is absolutely stunning and perfect.

    Just wanted to say that I struggled a lot this month and sorry if that negatively affected anyone here at all. But I really, really appreciate how kind, generous, and talented everyone here is and, when thinking straight, I see all these good things.

    As for Lacrimosa……. Latin for tears or tearful… I realized (fully) around the two week mark that it’s going to take me way more than a month to really grasp this one, not just technically but conveying the emotion. Now that I recorded it I feel like I can freak out less and just bask in the absolute beauty of it. I’m saying a lot because this song tested me more than I ever expected, but I still really love it and will keep playing it. Still many pauses and mistakes but here it is.

    Thanks to everyone here for your encouragement and help, and especially to Andrew and Matt. And Steven for creating such an amazing arrangement.

    @jbmills07
    , that’s so special that you rescue abandoned kittens. Can’t think about that too much or I’ll go back to crying. 😉😅 That is wonderful though. It’s impossible NOT to get attached under those circumstances. 😅 I love cats. Fittingly, I’m a cat person. Not like Andrew Lloyd Webber’s cat people. Anyway, I hope they keep appearing in your videos! And your performances were both fantastic! Everyone’s were.

    The End! Sorry for this novel. Thanks again! 😊

    Here is my October submission of 4 Spooky Melodies. And if it is Halloween, it must be time for the light-up “ghost” ukulele. I was sorry to have missed the harmonic at the end of the first section, but it was the best of my million takes. I enjoyed learning these melodies and am looking forward to viewing the other submissions this month.

    And my apologies if this is a duplicate submission. The first one didn’t seem to post. Please delete as needed.

    Happy Halloween!

    @dianna – Great playing and I love the outfit and setting! My only suggestion is to try to keep the tempo a little more steady overall (barring sections you want to add rubato).

    @june2020
    – Timing sounds great! Excellent playing!

    @jbmills07
    – Super clean playing! Well done! 👏

    @The_Bumble_Bard
    – Wow! I was really impressed by your performance. You’re making BIG strides in your playing at an unusually fast pace. Very impressive! The first half of the piece flows elegantly and smoothly. So I’d put the bulk of your practice in the last half to match the flow of the first half. Keep practicing just as you are, it’s working!

    @karenj
    – This was so awesome! Love the outfit, setting, and especially that uke! Great playing and presentation 🙂

    @Andrew, thank you so much for the encouraging words! I lost perspective on how I was doing with playing and wanted to give up and not even share, so that means so flippin’ much. It can be difficult to find great classical arrangements for ukulele but that one is perfection, and I got pretty much completely obsessed with learning it–but, as you honed in on, I played the first half more because those chord jumps in the second half are currently almost impossible for me. 😅 I will keep working on it though. Thank you!!!

    I actually would like to rescind my entry for the prize because I feel like I’ve already won.

    @The_Bumble_Bard – My pleasure!

    @joe150
    – Awesome job, Joe! So there’s 2 things I would suggest for you. First, try to memorize each piece, but start with one. I’d recommend starting with the third piece in the set as it’s the easiest. After memorizing it, try playing along with me in the tab player. Slow it down to a speed that’s good for you and loop it until you can play perfectly in-time with me.

    For the harder pieces, use the same approach, but try looping 1 or 2 bars at a time instead of the entire piece.

    Was working on Stranger Things for this month and then Andrew uploaded Song of Storms which I had to learn pronto! Learning that made me realise how beautiful the piano and uke sound together, I’d love to see more of them in the future thus I went with….
