    I chose Morning Dew because I need work on my hammer-ons. I think if I could relax when I was recording that I might be able to play it with more feeling.

    OK, I’m gonna give this a try. I’ve never posted to anything before and never created a sound file, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed. I am a 67 year old who took up the uke last January and enjoy it immensely. I particularly enjoy rockclass101 which I credit to keeping me motivated and providing a great learning environment. Just wish I’d started earlier. Anyway, please accept my humble submission…I am a PREMIUM member.

    Hello to all,

    here is finally my contribution for this month.

    It was a lot of fun again and I thank you, Andrew, and you, J.J. for this beautiful piece.

    First I played the piece with a plectrum, because I really enjoy that. But when strumming I struggled because I was worried about scratching my good ukulele with the pick. So then I switched completely to fingerpicking.

    And now I’m looking forward to the feedback and hope for easy pieces for next month.

    Best regards from Germany and have a great time

    Hey everyone, here is my attempt for the fingerpicking etude no.25.
    Slowly and not perfect, but time is over.

    Have a nice evening

    Hi all-

    I really loved Andrew’s Little Trouble in Big China among this month’s lovely selections. I eventually worked up to 90% speed, and made a 90% backing track using the Transcribe! software that Andrew had recommended (Thank you!) I’d like to work on improving dynamics and expression, as always.

    Loved everyone’s entries this month, thank you!

    Best,

    Hi,

    Here is my entry of Morning Dew
    Premium Member

    I really liked the tune and the focus on hammerons and pulloffs.
    Also got the chance to play more on my Low-G 😀
    Those distractions with all the nice Ghibli tunes were harsh, though 😀

    Grtz,
    Jay

    Well, I chose “Haunted Uke”. I like the melody, and the somber effect.

    I love Morning Dew and the inspiration behind it. When Andrew plays it I can totally see myself lying in bed with the sun shining through the window and birds singing in the garden. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work so well when I play it as I’m so busy panicking about what notes come next!

    I played this for the August 2021 challenge and I actually think I was better then, but I’ll blame that on the fact that I haven’t really picked up my ukulele much this year (excuses, excuses!)

    Thanks again for such a lovely etude Andrew! 🙂

    Been a while, but I’m glad to be ukeing again!

    Audio only this time since my laundry snuck into the background and I didn’t feel like rerecording 🙂 Thanks, Andrew!

    My version of The Haunted Uke –
    I didn’t want to do this song because I did it last year and I wanted to challenge
    myself with a harder song. So I started working on The Hourglass but didn’t have much
    time to master it due to trips away with family who didn’t want to hear me dink around
    on the Uke! (their loss 😜)
    Soooo, YESTERDAY, I watched my video from last year and it was very BAD with the timing.
    I started relearning Haunted Uke yesterday and I feel it is 90% better than last year!
    I didn’t have time to add filters and extra Uke parts but I’m mostly very happy with 2 days
    work on this song! Thanks for the lesson Andrew!

    It’s been a little while since I’ve been able to participate due to some life things going on, so I’m feeling a bit rusty, but it feels good to be back! Still working on some of these transitions, but I really enjoyed working on this etude.

    Here’s everyone on page 4 that I didn’t leave feedback for.

    @rafaela
    – That was so awesome! You did amazing on all the parts! I’m super impressed 🙂

    @The_Bumble_Bard
    – You did so well Rachael! You’ve got that strummed rhythm down! Just want to continue practicing so you nail it each time. For the solo, try practicing one phrase at a time, just as I taught and recommended in the lesson. When you have it memorized and can play it perfectly in time, move onto the next phrase then try them together 🙂

    @yukalele
    – Love the video and great playing overall David! Only thing I’d work on is that fast pentatonic lick. Practice at a slower tempo and continue working it up to speed. Def the hardest lick in the piece!
