AndrewKeymasterWelcome Jessica! Glad to have you here with us 🙂
You can find all of our baritone song lessons here. And baritone mini lessons here.
You can manually access those link by clicking “Ukulele Songs” or “Mini Lessons” in the main menu, then selecting “Baritone” in the filter on the right hand side of the site. If you need a visual guide on how to do this, please watch the second video on this page and jump to 10:42 to learn how to sort lessons by tuning, genre, and difficulty.
There are 14 baritone lessons up right now. At the moment, all we’re planning to do with baritone is stand-alone lessons on songs. If you’re looking for courses or general playing lessons, I’d recommend using a high or low g ukulele as we have hundreds of lessons for those tunings.
Also, did you know that you can play any low G arrangement on baritone? The only difference is that you’ll be playing in a different key.
You can use the same sorting method detailed above to find all of our low G content.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

AndrewKeymasterThanks for the 2nd video, Kay! Here’s a video to help you. Let me know if you have any ?s. And here is the article I mentioned.
One last thing I’d suggest working on is lightening your right hand attack when fingerpicking. This is a concept I demo-d and explained in this video a few years back for another member who was learning this song. You can ignore the comments on the left hand in that video. Make sure you have no pressure in your right hand, as in, it’s not tense. Being relaxed is key 🙂

AndrewKeymaster@leihali – Kay, can you share a video that shows your left hand?
@mysticrick – Try to learn as many licks/solos as possible. Most improv is a reconfiguration of what you already know how to play. This can be seen in the most famous lick meme compilation:January 15, 2025 at 6:34 pm in reply to: January 14, 2024 – Live Lesson: My Ukulele Collection! #65212
AndrewKeymasterSounds like the intonation is off. Since you just bought it, I’d contact the shop you purchased it from.

AndrewKeymasterHi Rick, great questions! Let’s knock em out 🙂
1) Exactly! You’ll want to get to the point where you know without thinking what the extensions are.
2) All of the forms are based out of the C major scale. You are correct for the first diagram. For the second diagram, the root is shown as the hollow circle (C). You can start and stop on those hollow notes (C) which will help your ear hear the C major scale better. But you should be aware of the surrounding notes in each position that extend beyond the root.
BTW – I’d recommend calling it as 1-7 without worrying about extensions. For ex:

AndrewKeymaster@dianna – Michael gave some great choices. I’d also recommend checking out “St. Louis Blues” and the theme from “New York, New York”. Both lessons incorporate the techniques taught in that course.

AndrewKeymasterThese are some great goals y’all! 🙂
@nat-uke – Matt taught that technique in this lesson from our Next Level Strumming Course. Def check that one out too as you work on it 🙂December 28, 2024 at 5:23 pm in reply to: Participate in the December 2024 Member Challenge – WIN $3,100 Kanile’a #65052
AndrewKeymasterWE DID IT! WE RAISED $2,350 for The Ukulele Kids Club. The money we raised will donate 47 ukuleles to hospital based children who will be paired up with music therapists that TEACH THEM how to play!
Thanks to everyone who participated and donated in our December Challenge.
Together, WE GAVE the gift of music to children in need. ❤️

AndrewKeymaster@maryjanew – I double-checked the list for you, and it was correct. To verify, I went back through my phone’s browser history to the date and time I accessed the random picker website. When you revisit the site, it retains the list of usernames I copy/pasted.
I copied that list into Excel and compared it against the master list. Both lists matched. There were 827 individual lines, and your name appeared 8 times. If you’d like, I’d be happy to email you a PDF of the master list for reference.
What I think happened is that, because there are so many names and I scrolled through them as fast as possible at times, it made the list look shorter than it actually is.

AndrewKeymaster@gi_gi_ – Hi Gigi, I think that’s a good idea! Capping it at 2 per person would be fair moving forward. I see @jbmills07 has graciously opted out of future K giveaways. Which is admirable 🙂
@maryjanew – Hi MJ, I did see your name on the list as it scrolled. I copied and pasted all 6 months from the lists found at the end of each challenge (for ex. this one from December).December 22, 2024 at 8:57 pm in reply to: Participate in the December 2024 Member Challenge – WIN $3,100 Kanile’a #65011
