AndrewKeymasterHi Gayle! With barre chords, most of the time, folks struggle with one of two things: finger strength or form. If the former is the issue, than one or more notes in the chord will not ring out. If the latter is the issue, than it can be corrected by adjusting your form. I’d recommend checking out this lesson and this one. They cover the fundamentals of barring.
This is a good exercise that you can run to practice barring:
This will give you something fun to play while also helping to build finger strength. You can switch up the exercise by using different barre chord shapes. The exercise simply involves moving a shape up and down by half or whole steps. 🙂
If you’re still having trouble with barres, feel free to share a video here. I’d be happy to take a look and offer further advice.

AndrewKeymaster@lucauka – Fingerpicking sounds great Lucas! Your progress since the first video I watched is impressive! Keep up the good work, it’s clearly paying off!
I do have one suggestion to add to your practice routine. Try playing along with Matt in the tab player with the metronome feature turned on. Tap your foot as you play along, and aim to match his playing exactly. This will be a fun way to work on timing 🙂

AndrewKeymaster@deflygirl – Very nicely played DeAnna! I do hear a couple things for you to look into. It sounds like you are adding an extra melody note at the end of some of the bars in the A melody. In the D melody, I would suggest using a more traditional strumming technique instead of only the thumb. That’ll make it easier to play the 16th notes in that section. Lastly, try playing along to a click. That’ll help you smooth out the transitions while keeping timing intact.
AndrewKeymasterSounded awesome Rick!

AndrewKeymaster@willw18 – Really well played, Will! My only suggestion would be to practice with a metronome to tighten up the timing.
