AndrewKeymasterHave you reached out to Uma? That’s the first thing I’d try. Alternatively, having a local luthier take a look at it could be a good option too.

AndrewKeymaster@heike_uke – I’m not hearing/seeing anything that needs fixing, other than a brief pause when moving up the neck to that first higher-voiced chord. Try looping that section at a very slow tempo to build the muscle memory needed to make the jump cleanly and in time, without the pause.

AndrewKeymaster@nat-uke – That was awesome, Natalie! Great playing on both instruments 🙂
@wendyhaynes – What an excellent first post, Wendy! You played it beautifully, with great feel and tone. From here, the main things I’d suggest are memorizing the piece so you can focus 100% on your playing, and practicing along with a metronome. That’s always a great way to push yourself toward a steady tempo throughout. That said, this song does sound nice with a slightly loose feel, so don’t feel like it has to be perfectly locked in. You can add a bit of rubato to taste.
@malku2603 – Your hard work paid off, you rocked it! 👏
@milky1312 – You are so close! I’m looking forward to hearing the final take tomorrow 🙂January 29, 2026 at 12:10 am in reply to: Participate in the January 2026 Member Challenge – You Decide What To Work On! #79726
AndrewKeymaster@leihali – Your new take sounds much more fluid than last year’s! The one thing I would suggest is to try anchoring your pinky/ring on the body of the uke as shown at this time stamp in the tutorial.
Anchoring will give you more control and help you focus the attack through your thumb and wrist rather than relying on arm movement, which can create a bit too much motion for this strumming technique. This approach keeps your hand closer to the strings at all times.
@heike_uke – Your strumming and chunks sound perfect, well done! The only thing I’d suggest working on is the section in the B melody that jumps up the neck and then moves back down. Try looping measures 11 and 12 in the tab player, slowing it down to a comfortable tempo, and focusing on staying in time with Steven.January 27, 2026 at 9:46 pm in reply to: Participate in the January 2026 Member Challenge – You Decide What To Work On! #79707

AndrewKeymaster@misterbones – Beautifully played, Michael!
@akukes73 – Rasgueado sounds excellent, as does the triplet picking. Very well played! 👏
@marianne – I like the change, sounds great! Clear, clean, and crisp harmonics throughout. Great job on the technique! The only thing I would work on is speeding up the chord harmonics (like the C chord 543X).
@joe150 – You’ve got the melody shining through beautifully. Very nicely played, Joe!
@nelsonlin2021 – Wow, very impressive Nelson! Both rhythm and lead sound great, as does your timing! Bravo!!
@brettboy – Aww man, that was so cool to hear on bass! Great job on transposing it 👏Her shows are super fun! She’s an incredible performer 🙂

AndrewKeymaster@jlchow – Thanks for uploading it to YT 🙂
Have you tried fingerpicking using more than one finger? For this tune, since it’s a pretty challenging one to play, I’d recommend using at least a 3 finger approach. If you try this approach, make sure to keep your right-hand in a claw-like shape, instead of open as you’re doing now.
Other than that, rhythm/timing and tone sounds great! Keep up the great work!
