If the forum looked weird for a minute, it might have been due to a mistake I made when applying styling updates earlier today. Everything should be back to normal now.

@mickan88 – Yes! The “tremolo picking etude” works for either high or low G.
“Spanish Romance” will, but some of the measures that have notes on the G string won’t sound as good as it does on high G.
The “swung vs. straight rhythm etude” will if you move the open G notes to the 3rd fret of the 2nd string in measures 5, 6, 7, 13, 14, and 15.

Have you reached out to Uma? That’s the first thing I’d try. Alternatively, having a local luthier take a look at it could be a good option too.

@heike_uke – I’m not hearing/seeing anything that needs fixing, other than a brief pause when moving up the neck to that first higher-voiced chord. Try looping that section at a very slow tempo to build the muscle memory needed to make the jump cleanly and in time, without the pause.

@wendyhaynes – What an excellent first post, Wendy! You played it beautifully, with great feel and tone. From here, the main things I’d suggest are memorizing the piece so you can focus 100% on your playing, and practicing along with a metronome. That’s always a great way to push yourself toward a steady tempo throughout.That said, this song does sound nice with a slightly loose feel, so don’t feel like it has to be perfectly locked in. You can add a bit of rubato to taste.
