    @otzepeng, I guess that’s really true, that feel is more important than speed. I think overall I tend to play more slowly so that’s probably why that happened. The song is 100% fun to play. I think I learned it quickly because I’m pretty familiar with Matt’s style of arrangements because I think I’ve learned his songs the most and also have talked to him a lot in lessons about how he creates songs. Anyway, it’s a really fun one and I loved your take on Blue Moon! 😊

    @dianna
    , haha, thank you, I hoped to capture both the spooks and scares of that one! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜… Ha, very true about Toccata and Fugue, but don’t worry… I’ll definitely learn the whole thing and be able to play it at Andrew’s level in a month’s time! πŸ˜‰πŸ˜…πŸ˜‚πŸ₯ΊπŸ€πŸ˜Ά Oh but I do have a little surprise of sorts of how I’m going to play it which might be amusing. However much I learn this month I’ll share that. πŸ˜…πŸ˜Š

    @deadbuggy
    , so beautiful and fun, you captured the spirit of that song so perfectly! 😊

    @deflygirl
    , really awesome take on that one, such an iconic theme! Well done!! 😊 I like the bats you added. πŸ˜‚

    So excited to see more entries this month!! πŸ˜ŠπŸ’•

    @Andrew, thank you so much! It always means a lot when you like those kind of changes, because I’m not always sure if they work. πŸ˜… The first chord of the B Melody in SSS is a chord from Steven’s Spanish Romance and so it made me think to play it more with that fingerpicking style. 😊 Thank you, I was surprised I was able to learn it that fast, but I’m determined to tackle T + F. πŸ˜…

    @leb397, thank you so much, friend!! πŸ˜ŠπŸ’• Haha nice, which one did you say you were thinking of doing?

    I realized I was playing SSS way slower than I thought. I listened to Matt’s play through again and then realized how much faster he played it. Whoops, that was not on purpose. It’s Spooky, Scary, Sluggish Skeletons. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜…πŸ˜‚

    I actually didn’t get to re-watch @simonalexander ‘s performance again until just now. Wow, indeed. Good gracious, that was perfection. Maybe if I quit my job I could learn that in a month, LOL. But I’m still going to try and see what happens. 😊

    I AM A PREMIUM MEMBER

    Boom, baby! Step one, complete: Learn a simpler song to secure my entries for the challenge. Step two, begins: Time to serve up a delish hot “Fugue” sundae (really stupid, lol). Actually, I do realize it’s borderline impossible for me to learn that this month, but I’m still going to see how far I can get. I already started.

    I actually am pretty pleased with this (Spooky, Scary Skeletons) considering how quickly I learned this (for me) and how I tried to be a little “extra” with the chorus. It could be smoother, still some pauses, but overall… Not bad, eh?!?!?!? ;D Also, I really, really enjoyed playing this more than I even expected and would recommend this song to anyone who’s not sure what to work on. 😊

    Thank you for listening and for all these amazing challenges! 😊❀️

    @katazumiri, holy crudsticks, that was amazing! Absolutely beautiful! So you created all that based on that folk song? Wow!! Golly. πŸ˜‚

    I’ll have to watch it again and comment more later but just wanted to say that was so cool!

    And I actually did come up with a melody for this concept that I want to attempt to do something similar with, but just haven’t gotten to put it together yet. I may be able to get to that tomorrow finally too. Life has just been extra crazy lately, not just with busyness but other stuff I’ve been going through.

    Thank you so much for sharing that! 😁

    @bibilele, yes, the pipe organ is the gigantic kind that’s built into the walls of churches, with all the pipes, obvs. I think they vary in size. I saw one in England that took up the whole wall and it was rather breathtaking. I forgot that the smaller kinds were called electric organs. That’s really interesting with the different kinds of foot work involved. I would love to try that one day, sounds entertaining. πŸ˜‚

    Toccata is a good one to try, I still am going to try to learn as much as I can of it this month, with my “safety” option of a simpler song. πŸ˜‚

    @simonalexander
    , really amazing playing! I found your video on here when you first shared it because I was interested in that song and you were the only one who shared it here. Really really amazing! 😊

    (Suddenly a portal opens up in Matt’s ceiling, revealing a bright celestial glow)

    Hello Matt! It’s me, Daniel Day-Lewis.

    Perhaps you remember the last time I saw you I had ascended on the back of a surly papa Pegasus into the great beyond. You had arranged the Gael for uke, so thence my time on this earth was done.

    Under the majestical roof of heaven, they only play open chords, for they are the fairest and sweetest of harmonies.

    Anyway, just wanted to say hello, lol. G2G.

    (The portal to the other realm closes, but also all the pens from your desk get sucked into it by mistake)

    (I accept the consequences of writing this post. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜…πŸ˜…πŸ˜…)

    @bibilele, that is sooooo cool that you used to play that one on a pipe organ! I always wanted to try to play one of those because I liked to play piano. Oh wait, you said an electric organ, so I guess that’s something different? Hahaha I know, it’s a bit ridiculous to think I could learn that in a month too, but maybe I could learn one of the easier ones as a “place holder,” then start learning the Fugue, at least. We should both try it. I think I could definitely learn part of it. My favorite part is the third theme. Shows what an incredible player Andrew is, watching him play that. πŸ˜…β˜ΊοΈ

    Every time I catch a glimpse of that kanile’a, I feel like I’m going to start drooling. πŸ˜… But then I think about how clumsy I am and how I probably shouldn’t have it…

    I want to try to learn Toccata and Fugue, that being my “white whale” of the Rock Class songs, but we’ll see what happens. Whale see… πŸ˜‰πŸ˜…

    Edit: I just rewatched the performance of Toccata and Fugue. I forgot how insane that is. So cool though. Is it for low g or high g? I couldn’t find which it was. If it’s low g, that would sound really amazing on my electric uke. ☺️

    @Andrew, thank you, I’m so glad that you liked it and that the timing issues didn’t hurt your ears too much. πŸ˜…

    @dianna
    , so, so lovely! You played that perfectly! ☺️ I really wanted to learn that one but it just didn’t work out. Nonetheless, viva la clawhammer crew! πŸ˜‰πŸ˜… (Sorry I forget where the accents go on “viva la,” that might be completely wrong). Anyway, very lovely playing! β˜ΊοΈπŸ’•

    @grannieannie
    , congrats!!! That’s so exciting!! I hope you enjoy that lovely uke! Also thank you so much for the encouragement earlier. β˜ΊοΈπŸ’•

    @leb397, aw, thank you, friend! 😊 When I listened back to it again today, I realized it wasn’t *quite* as bad as I thought. I may have been getting tired and therefore slaphappy when I listened back to it. πŸ˜…πŸ˜‚ Really thank you! I actually love trying to layer like that but I think I need to get a better program / method for creating duets/layers because the program I have now is Clunky City. πŸ˜‚

    Oh my, so, I managed to get an entry together of Kakariko Village. I learned the harmony, melody, recorded both parts, layered and edited them (unsuccessfully I guess, lol) and uploaded it in an hour flat. And boy does it sound like it. πŸ˜…πŸ˜…πŸ˜‚

    When I first listened to the “finished product” back, I cry laughed pretty hard, just because it was so hilariously off. What happened?! I actually even tried to count. I had to record each part separately without listening to the other part. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜πŸ˜…

    I think what happened is that I was playing the melody too slowly. And in my attempts to be “extra” I added notes to the harmony which threw off the rhythm. And also didn’t realize that the last chord of the song was played by itself. I knew this after I listened to @kittycatlin ‘s lovely performance of this one. 😊 @swissconsinboy also played that one really well.

    I feel like mine is a “expectations versus reality” prime example. πŸ˜…

    I’ll say I’m glad that I still tried to get an entry in so I didn’t lose my streak (and because it was a much needed laugh today), but this one maybe doesn’t deserve a prize entry. πŸ˜…πŸ₯Ί

    @abster
    , your performance was incredible! Such a young rock star indeed! 😊😎

    I want to comment on everyone else’s because they were all so great, but I’ll say they were all very lovely! 😊

    @leb397
    , that is so amazing and magical! I am definitely very excited for you! πŸ˜πŸ’• I feel like I need to go look into that company so I can ogle the ukes at least. πŸ˜… Thank you, friend, there have been some fun and crazy things this month, but the last couple of weeks have been a bit rough. It will get better though. You be well, as well! 😊

    @leb397, ohhhh my gosh, that’s sooooooooo cool!! I’m so happy for you but also a little bit jealous!! πŸ˜‰πŸ˜…πŸ˜‚ Wow, that’s so beautiful and has such a cool history to it. I did notice that the skin on the drum looked new right away, but it looks really, really nice. And the sound is fantastic from your entry in the challenge. 😊

    Oh, when I first got my banjolele I had to put the bridge in myself and I was so nervous that I’d hurt it but it turned out okay. πŸ˜… For a banjouke that needs that much work it was good for you to have someone else do it; that’s what I’d do. πŸ˜‚ I’m overly excited for you. πŸ˜…πŸ˜‚ At some point I’d love to own any antique uke because I think they’re extra special and always have an interesting history like that.

    Also I love that the company is called Bacon. I’m sure that’s a last name, but I still love it. πŸ˜‚ Thank you for sharing that!! πŸ˜ŠπŸ’•

    @leb397, that was so magical, my friend! That made me smile so much! That song sounds so amazing on your 100 year old banjo uke! It has such a sweet, mellow sound to me and you played so well! πŸ˜ŠπŸ’• It’s also really impressive that you learned clawhammer, a whole technique, in that amount of time, too, along with the song. πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜…

    Now I can also listen to the entries I missed, but the ones I heard were all really amazing. 😊

    This month has been really crazy for me with some struggles mixed in but I’m hoping I might be able to squeeze in a very last second entry. Don’t worry though, I haven’t even started yet. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜…πŸ˜…πŸ˜…

    Glad that everyone near the path of the hurricane is safe, @Andrew, it seemed to be really bad. Praying about that, for those dealing with that devastation. πŸ’—
