The_Bumble_BardParticipant@jgillard, that was awesome! I love RC101’s version of that song and you played it beautifully! π
The_Bumble_BardParticipant@surferjay, thank you kindly, my friend! π Ha, that would be beyond amazing, but I dare not truly dream such things.
Hahahaha!! Thank you! π Part of why I did that was to force myself to speak on camera because I’m trying to build up courage in that regard, and other regards. I’m trying to do things outside my comfort zone, man. π π
The_Bumble_BardParticipant@gi_gi_ haha so I used a video editing program that allowed you to insert an image as the background and I just took the image of the inside of a uke and used that. Fun fact: that image was corrupted / virus-ridden and almost broke my computer. ππ I fixed it though. ππ³

The_Bumble_BardParticipantHaha, @Andrew, that movie’s the best, Inception! A uke within a uke. ππ Next challenge my video will be based on Christopher Nolan’s Memento with the tabs tattooed as physical representation of memories. It’s gonna be wild. Thank you by the way! π
The_Bumble_BardParticipant@robinboyd, hooray! Can’t wait to hear it! Sorry about your hand, yeesh, you’re really going through it in that regard. π
The_Bumble_BardParticipant@gi_gi_ , thank you so much, my friend! That really means a lot. Ha, I had way too much fun with one of those videos in the monthly challenge. ππ
@recdog, thank you SO much for saying that! I’m such a sick, sick fangirl of this site that having one of my arrangements used for one of the lessons would be a dream come true–as long as I didn’t have to teach it π , because I just don’t have enough music education or really teaching ability. This arrangement isn’t even written down yet. π³Thank you again so much, I feel really encouraged by your words. π

The_Bumble_BardParticipantI AM A PREMIUM MEMBER (because if I weren’t I feel like I’d actually be doing something [even more] wrong with how obnoxious I am…)
I attempted the Country Riff. This is definitely outside my comfort zone because of the speed and it’s not a style I’ve played in a lot. It’s still imperfect and it may take a while to get the speed, but it’s at least okay-ish now.
Also, I am working on trying to get better at recording, so I’m including me having too much fun playing this riff with the effects of a program I was using, and it’s janky and awkward as can be. π
The_Bumble_BardParticipant@surferjay, if we do get to play, then I think I’d have to go with the “less gore” option. π Scary games can be fun, but it’s true that they’re so immersive, especially with a character-driven story and just the realism they can achieve in games now. Ha, I definitely would not play alone. I learned that lesson the hard way a few times.
@samash07, I wonder if it’s the same tab I found. There was one of the original, faster version of the song that seemed pretty good but when I found it it was way above my skill level. I should go back and try it now that I know a bit more. It’s a lovely song though.
The_Bumble_BardParticipantThat’s the funniest thing I’ve ever seen! π π So friggin’ cute. She’s Cat Winslet! π
It’s pretty impressive that you managed to keep going with all that happening. Impressive contortions and lovely playing! π
For that I’ll actually say: Happy Valentine’s Day! π
The_Bumble_BardParticipant@jbmills07, thank you kindly! π I have modified this one since I recorded that video and I think I’ve gotten better at playing it. Hopefully I can get a video of it soon. That’s one of the hardest things for me is recording songs and playing in front of other people. Obviously, because the quality of all my recordings is terrible. π Anyway, thank you! π

The_Bumble_BardParticipant@madz_about_uke, that was so good!! I absolutely love that arrangement of that song. I learned the part that accompanies the singing a while ago, but I can’t sing so then I just felt sad. π You absolutely nailed every part of it though! π
The_Bumble_BardParticipant@surferjay, so my sister told me that the zombies in the game are “mushroom zombies”? So there’s a chance we may play through the game which would be pretty sweet. I’ll just look away when things become too much. π
Either way the theme song is lovely. π
I feel like there could be a really lovely solo ukulele version of that other song. I just haven’t gotten around to requesting that yet or fully able to do the arrangement myself.
@marlongas, that was so lovely!! Thanks for sharing that. πFebruary 10, 2023 at 5:57 pm in reply to: February 14, 2023 – Live Lesson: 3 Light Bulb Moments! #56270
The_Bumble_BardParticipantI may have too many lightbulb moments to count. My experience with learning ukulele has been ALL lightbulbs and chaos–like Daniel Day-Lewis riding an angry Canadian moose through the lighting department of an Ikea.
But probs the biggest one was discovering the crazy good solo arrangements that exist for ukulele, like RC101’s, so much more to do than strumming basic chords.

The_Bumble_BardParticipant@gi_gi_ I actually just tried the country riff and got pretty far but I feel like the speed is what makes that one trickier.
I tried the Celtic one too but that may take some doing with the thumb frettin’.
Happy National Uke Day! I guess that’s today. Who knows all these things? π

The_Bumble_BardParticipantThis theme is a thing of beauty! Mini things, they are just so much more fun and cute for some reason. π I really love those lil’ sopranino ukes.
@gi_gi_ that’s pretty amazing that you learned that one so quickly! I tried most of the mini lesson songs and they’re trickier than they seem, at least for me.
@morrieuke1 that was really good! -
