Have you ever sung “Stars” from Les Miserables, Robin? I feel like that would also suit your voice quite well. Literally taking requests now… 😅
@Andrew, same! I love the original, and the music video for it, just a classic, and especially A-ha’s slower version, but I love a cover like this–so good. I have seen the faster version arranged for the uke, but not the slower one as much. Seems to be pretty popular right now with this cover from The Last of Us being out and all………… 😉😂
@jgillard, ha, yes, that’s the hardest part of learning any song is trying to get it perfectly smooth. At the same time, some amount of hesitation can be good. No one wants a perfectly mechanical performance. But also, at some point you have to start forgiving your human imperfections. 😅
@gi_gi_ ha I know what you mean. I get these songs stuck in my head real’ bad’. 😅 That’s awesome that you learned two. I wanted to as well but I thought it’d be better to focus my energy into getting one as good as it could be even though they’re short. It takes me a while to get any song smooth.

Side note, the slow version of this song pretty much always instantly makes me tear up so that may have happened. I’m ridiculous. 😂😅

Hahahaha!! Thank you! 😂 Part of why I did that was to force myself to speak on camera because I’m trying to build up courage in that regard, and other regards. I’m trying to do things outside my comfort zone, man. 😅😉
@gi_gi_ haha so I used a video editing program that allowed you to insert an image as the background and I just took the image of the inside of a uke and used that. Fun fact: that image was corrupted / virus-ridden and almost broke my computer. 😂😅 I fixed it though. 😂😳
Haha, @Andrew, that movie’s the best, Inception! A uke within a uke. 😂😅 Next challenge my video will be based on Christopher Nolan’s Memento with the tabs tattooed as physical representation of memories. It’s gonna be wild. Thank you by the way! 😊

I’m such a sick, sick fangirl of this site that having one of my arrangements used for one of the lessons would be a dream come true–as long as I didn’t have to teach it 😅, because I just don’t have enough music education or really teaching ability. This arrangement isn’t even written down yet. 😳Thank you again so much, I feel really encouraged by your words. 🙂

I attempted the Country Riff. This is definitely outside my comfort zone because of the speed and it’s not a style I’ve played in a lot. It’s still imperfect and it may take a while to get the speed, but it’s at least okay-ish now.
Also, I am working on trying to get better at recording, so I’m including me having too much fun playing this riff with the effects of a program I was using, and it’s janky and awkward as can be. 😂
@surferjay, if we do get to play, then I think I’d have to go with the “less gore” option. 😅 Scary games can be fun, but it’s true that they’re so immersive, especially with a character-driven story and just the realism they can achieve in games now. Ha, I definitely would not play alone. I learned that lesson the hard way a few times.
@samash07, I wonder if it’s the same tab I found. There was one of the original, faster version of the song that seemed pretty good but when I found it it was way above my skill level. I should go back and try it now that I know a bit more. It’s a lovely song though.
