The_Bumble_BardParticipant@jbmills07, thank you kindly! π I have modified this one since I recorded that video and I think I’ve gotten better at playing it. Hopefully I can get a video of it soon. That’s one of the hardest things for me is recording songs and playing in front of other people. Obviously, because the quality of all my recordings is terrible. π Anyway, thank you! π

The_Bumble_BardParticipant@madz_about_uke, that was so good!! I absolutely love that arrangement of that song. I learned the part that accompanies the singing a while ago, but I can’t sing so then I just felt sad. π You absolutely nailed every part of it though! π
The_Bumble_BardParticipant@surferjay, so my sister told me that the zombies in the game are “mushroom zombies”? So there’s a chance we may play through the game which would be pretty sweet. I’ll just look away when things become too much. π
Either way the theme song is lovely. π
I feel like there could be a really lovely solo ukulele version of that other song. I just haven’t gotten around to requesting that yet or fully able to do the arrangement myself.
@marlongas, that was so lovely!! Thanks for sharing that. πFebruary 10, 2023 at 5:57 pm in reply to: February 14, 2023 – Live Lesson: 3 Light Bulb Moments! #56270
The_Bumble_BardParticipantI may have too many lightbulb moments to count. My experience with learning ukulele has been ALL lightbulbs and chaos–like Daniel Day-Lewis riding an angry Canadian moose through the lighting department of an Ikea.
But probs the biggest one was discovering the crazy good solo arrangements that exist for ukulele, like RC101’s, so much more to do than strumming basic chords.

The_Bumble_BardParticipant@gi_gi_ I actually just tried the country riff and got pretty far but I feel like the speed is what makes that one trickier.
I tried the Celtic one too but that may take some doing with the thumb frettin’.
Happy National Uke Day! I guess that’s today. Who knows all these things? π

The_Bumble_BardParticipantThis theme is a thing of beauty! Mini things, they are just so much more fun and cute for some reason. π I really love those lil’ sopranino ukes.
@gi_gi_ that’s pretty amazing that you learned that one so quickly! I tried most of the mini lesson songs and they’re trickier than they seem, at least for me.
@morrieuke1 that was really good!February 2, 2023 at 12:10 pm in reply to: Participate in the January 2023 Member Challenge: WIN Mainland Ukulele! #56112
The_Bumble_BardParticipantYay, congrats, june2020!! π

The_Bumble_BardParticipant@mueleski, if that sound were written out, it’d be, “uh-rrRRRRrrr-tah-POW!” Oh my, I’ll never be the same. π
Yes, that jump to that F chord is super tricky. I struggle with those big leaps too, and also with fighting the impulses of my “too much” gene. π
@Ben-j283 and @ksapp92, you both did a lovely job with said etude, though! πAnd @jbmills07, you did awesomely… awesome with that one!

The_Bumble_BardParticipant@mueleski, I want the sound that you make at the beginning of your video to be my incoming text sound on my phone. That is what you call… Amazing. π π I feel like someone needs to turn that into a meme-able techno song. π And you did great with your playing! E’erybody did!

The_Bumble_BardParticipant@leb397, agreed, SOooo excited for that classical course. I… I put it on my calendar. π π It’s going to be amazing.
Everyone did such an amazing job on these ‘tudes!
The_Bumble_BardParticipant@surferjay, story- / character-driven games are some of my favorite kinds of games, so I’m defs intrigued! I also like that it’s apparently set in the south of the U.S. because they have pretty fantastic accents there. π See, now I have to agree that it would be perfect for our game club (discussions)! I’m not the biggest fan of zombies due to being, well, incredibly squeamish, but if the story is worthwhile I could overlook that (probably). π
That was such a beautiful start to that song, friend! Did you add in the melody or did she play that in the video? I know she sang but I didn’t notice if she played the melody on guitar too. So nice!!
@samash07, that sounds pretty cool, imma have to check that person out! I hope you do choose to learn that song too; that’d be funny if there were three different renditions in this thread. π
The_Bumble_BardParticipantThat was so lovely!! I really love that song, start to finish, and you played it perfectly! π
The_Bumble_BardParticipant@surferjay, I just watched the first minute or two and can already tell it’s a game I’d like to play. My sister, bro, and one of our friends and I have a “game club” where we play a game then discuss. We’re playing through Alan Wake right now but maybe that one could be next!
But are there zombies…?
@robinboyd, that’s a lovely start! I love that song so much.
The_Bumble_BardParticipant@samash07, that was so flippin’ beautiful! Where did that arrangement come from?
I have not played The Last of Us but it seems intriguing!
@surferjay, that song is one of my favorite songs of all time, both the original version and the slower acoustic version! And I love that version too! I hope you and @robinboyd cover it, that’d be pretty awesome! πJanuary 13, 2023 at 6:25 pm in reply to: Participate in the January 2023 Member Challenge: WIN Mainland Ukulele! #55715
The_Bumble_BardParticipant@Andrew, awwww, wow, thank you so much! I really appreciate that. Thank you for accepting it! Ha, I feel bad if I ever have vexed you with my shenanigans because it’s clear that you and your team work very hard and create such amazing songs! I just like to play all songs that way, by modifying them in different ways. I hope to get to that specific course this year as I intend to hit the RC101 courses hard, as another resolution. Thank you again and sorry for that! π π³
