becky7777ParticipantDeadbuggy that was great!
Funny enough washerwoman was one of the first songs I tried (keyword- tried) when I could access it.
becky7777ParticipantI’m not 100% solid on this but I think it’s the symbol to arpeggiate the cord… (Is that even a word?) The arrow indicates the direction to go in.
I’ve been interpreting the symbol as an arpeggio though. Hope someone can confirm for you. I’ve been having a hard time finding names for anything.

becky7777ParticipantThis is just melody A of rose played, and sadly recorded badly. (I really messed up) to compare ukuleles $12 uke vs the tiny tenor second. Cranked gain and volume to max in the DAW but it’s a pretty hopeless recording. (Not like any of them came out how I was intending but this is bad.)
The settings on the audio interface changed when I woke up on it. I pretty much recorded this, and was intending to record again, but I don’t think that will happen. (So here ya go miz, I really DID warn you! ;)) final entry will be much MUCH! better I hope! The sound and playability between the ukes is such a huge huge difference! that last note I hit on the TT for fun rings so long and sweetly! My biggest issue is retraining muscle memory for the larger frets LOL! They’re so much bigger then the soprano or even that flesh eating concert uke! And romero makes the TT necks wider. My fingers go down and im like oops. Need to aim farther! lol! LOVING it though!

becky7777ParticipantI officially take back my giant stupid idiot (somewhat altered to be family forum friendly) title..
Woke up to laughing… Then they sat and enjoyed the moment as I woke up and realized what was going on. My mic stand was flopped on top of me. The audio interface and laptop power chords were wrapped around my legs and the stupid coiled cable of the headphones was completely tangled REALLY badly in my hair which made removing the uke impossible until I got free. (Which I couldn’t do without help.)
The first thing they said after getting the headphones out of my hair was “Ukulele’s Revenge.” -I mean, seriously? (No, no, it’s just me being a GIANT freaking idiot falling asleep connected to recording equipment. After waking up more and getting over my indignity and stupidity I was able to see more humor in the situation. Really hope I didn’t break anything though.)

becky7777ParticipantWow erino7!.. 💖
Popped in to just kind of holler that i’m going to post Rose’s intro and A melody on my first ukulele tonight just because my new, (properly set up!) Tiny Tenor will be here tomorrow! (YEA!!!!!)
Anyway, I kind of want a sound comparison between $12 and quality ukulele. Since it’s the challenge song hope that’s ok. Plus I’m going to probably be playing the *censored* out of the new one and this poor little Diamond Head won’t see much action for a while probably lol. (Actually really like how this thing sounds but there’s so much on it that’s so wrong.)
And! I learned I have no clue at ALL how to properly use a metronome… That pineapple song off romero creations site is at 164 or something but I can play the song close to or at speed, but can’t play Bourree at what was it? 130? yet… (Sorry for skipping around so much Andrew, hopefully you won’t read this if I type enough lol! I’m just one of those kind of students I guess.. “Oh! Lookie! That’s more interesting then basics!” -Runs off to chase the shinier thing.. I did go over the learning paths again and the things I focused on left huge gaps in what I should probably know per classification. Sigh. I started off good, then I kind of chased the white rabbit.. Not the vorpal one with pointy teeth I hope! 😉)
Anyway posting part of Rose tonight. So excited and in babbling overdrive lol!
becky7777ParticipantAdam Neely ironically just posted a new video on the Scotch Snap today.
(Eh, My randomness with this began because I’d been doing some research on how musical embellishments relate to whistle fiddle guitar/uke etc… It’s really not random.. Still nerdy but not random.)
becky7777ParticipantI’ll give this a shot ty. Really struggling with that bar. (I will get it but needed an alternative to give my tendon a break. And actually NOT come to a complete halt) I was playing through, hit this like a brick wall.
Thank you again for putting up with me! 👍💖

becky7777ParticipantAwesome planetfink! 💖 And yeah I’m right there with you on playing this somewhat obsessively. LOL!
Love love love the “podcast” shirt while you’re shooting a video btw! 😉 That made my night.

becky7777ParticipantCongratulations on making the newsletter Brenna, with your Red is the Rose! ✨😁✨
becky7777ParticipantBar 28.
Rewritten version.

It looks like I’ll need to do something similar on bar 36 too where it’s got the same form with the high g played between? (goodie. lol)
If there’s an alternative or a better way it would be helpful.
I just don’t want to spend the rest of the month practicing this wrong if there IS a better way and i’m completely oblivious to it.
28 and 36 look to be the only other serious problems I may run into other then just playing faster. (and nailing that weird fingering.)
becky7777ParticipantMelody B
I’m up to that first octave bar.
Is the best way to play this, is by keeping the octave form you go over in the video but changing it’s fingering to my pinky and middle finger?
This leaves ring and pointer to hit the high g on the 3rd fret keeping the form.
becky7777ParticipantMaybe Ricky! 😉
But personally i’m up to my ears trying to listen into everything at the moment. I just needed an article to talk at me in plain ordinary text so I didn’t have to think or listen too hard about it.
I thought the the articles were pretty interesting and answered my “getting in the zone” question for ukulele though. Little bit pompous and harsh, but pretty interesting so I shared. 😁
I suppose since they’re for voice maybe they might apply to singing too… but I don’t sing so I can’t vouch for that lol! 😉

becky7777ParticipantBravo brenna!!!!
Absolutely love this song too!
becky7777ParticipantMy lord…
I’ve been struggling with this for hours because I’ve apparently been in hardcore denial trying to get a different note to go after that high g rather than just play the same note 2x…. Music score and video, which I’ve been studying and watching, even clearly show it. But my brain was like “nope, wrong.”
I feel like an idiot lol. It’s like walking around for 10 minutes looking for the car keys and you’re holding them in your hand the entire time…
Thank you though. This was driving me beyond insane.

becky7777ParticipantNice! This is exciting.
I’m not sure I fully understand the topic explanation however… I will wait and find out.
