herbdrawsalineMemberHi all,
This was a fun challenge. I really don’t like the Yellow Submarine, but Matt’s take on it had such a happy vibe to it that I really enjoyed playing it. Somehow on camera I stumble everytime, my mind wanders and then I crash, but this take was passable. 🙂
All the best!
HerbertPS I don’t want to participate in the lottery, the import fees will tear me a new one.

herbdrawsalineMemberThanks for your positivity and tips Andrew! Left hand form is a work in progress.
Good luck with the last days of the challenge, lots of work cut out for you with such a big class. 🙂March 27, 2022 at 6:31 am in reply to: Participate in the March 2022 Member Challenge – Theme: Movie Magic! #51306
herbdrawsalineMemberNote to self, just go slower. I just played it a lot slooower and the notes rang loud, and soft attack was so much smoother. Forget about my self-raised bars, music sounds better when it’s not forced.
Sorry about the rambling to myself everyone. 😆March 26, 2022 at 9:37 am in reply to: Participate in the March 2022 Member Challenge – Theme: Movie Magic! #51299
herbdrawsalineMemberMan, I really love that Jurassic Park theme, my dad took me to the cinema to watch the film, what a thrill that was!
And I love these monthly challenges, cause they give me focus and make me practice, thanks to you all!
But my performance is pretty horrible, I just can’t seem to step it up to okay. Strum too loud, not enough pressure on the fret, or not even on the fret, it’s tough haha! Any tips appreciated.
PS I don’t want to participate due to shipping and customs and all that jazz.
Best wishes,

herbdrawsalineMemberThank you Stephen! I understand the pointer you gave, I find it hard to shift from strum to pluck, time to practice some more. 🙂

herbdrawsalineMemberI’d suggest to try a leash. Or for starters a piece of string tied around headstock and body, costs you less than a fancy product. It frees up your left hand. But I’m just a beginner, so maybe someone else has a better tip.

herbdrawsalineMemberHi all,
I tried the beginner’s blues, recording a performance without too much hiccups was challenging, sheesh!
Best wishes,

herbdrawsalineMemberHi Andrew,
Thanks for that feedback and the pointers to study on. Really appreciate it and I’ll start working on that soft attack. 🙂
All the best!

herbdrawsalineMemberHi Andrew et al.,
I’ve taken up the courage to film myself and post it to partake in the challenge. “Dream a little dream of me” at about 60%, that’s my limit before my fingers and brains start to short-circuit. Any feedback is welcome. I recently became a premium member and I’m loving it!
