MemberAloha Samash,
Thank you! The tempo is more or less just comfortable to me. I can play it faster, but I believe this is my internal tempo comfort zone for the piece. I am still uncertain about what I like better. Fast or slow. But I tend to the slow variant.
I can also share your feeling regarding directly biting the big chunks. The first fingerpicking piece I learned was TETRIS Theme A. To the day I play it semi regularly. And I always find things to improve or experiment with when I try it out again.
Have a nice day! & Mahalo nui!

MemberAloha Andrew!
Thank you for your kind words. You do an amazing job here and are definitely part of my journey.
I’m really humbled that you liked it, too.
Just took my first glance at ‘If I only had a Brain’ and I’m looking forward to playing it here.

MemberHi AJ,
Thank you for your feedback. That’s definitely coming to my list for the song. I also want to get the speed up a bit, but since the due date is now over, I can do it on a more relaxing way =).
Is the rubato apparent in the demo video? I’ll have to look that up later.
Have a nice day

Aloha fellow uke-fanatics,
it seems like this is the best I can manage on a Monday evening. Or at least the best so far, without getting lynched by my neighbors, who – though patient – do surely want to find some sleep without the same lullaby over and over again =).
Mahalo nui for the opportunity @Andrew and Rockclass 101.
Good night from Germany for now,
Jan-

As I’ve written earlier on Instagram I’d like to request a song. By now it has company =).
I just thought about ‘Cinema Paradiso’ and asked myself, if you guys (and girls?) wanted to arrange this song for the low G uke.
This was motivated by the death of Ennio Morricone. The second song is Clair de Lune by Claude Debussy. I believe this could be beautifully arranged for a high G tuning (although I do like arrangements that work for both standard tunings high and low). I’ve found a version about a year ago, but it seems unfinished and too short. I could not hold my motivation up for long with that one.
I’m still quite in love with your Jurassic Park arrangement! I now it by heart now and it’s really a keeper =).

MemberWow! @jinajupiter
That is really impressive and a good perspective to work for. Especially, as it motivates to get my flute skills up-to-date =).Could you please name the e-uke that you are using? It seems to have steel strings and real e-pickups. All the other e-ukes that I saw so far are just your other uke with a piezo pickup and a massive body? (Though I’m relatively new to the topic and might be talking uneducated rubbish =).)
Thank you!

MemberThank you very much for your kind words, rickeymike.
I consider myself a serious uke addict anyway, so why not a “serious” player, too ;-).May 30, 2020 at 11:20 am in reply to: Participate in the May 2020 Member Challenge – WIN a Kanile’a Tenor Ukulele! #38116humerosa
MemberAloha Rock Class community.
This is my first time uploading anything uke-related via youtube and now here, too.
In 2019 I fell completely in love with the Kanilea Platinum Pineapple Tenor and was positively suprised when they announced their “production model”. Of course I could not resist participating in the challenge to have a chance of winning one for myself.
I did not manage the aimed at 120 BPM but despite one minor flaw I’m quite happy with my 80 BPM =). And I will definetely continue playing the song, as I can almost play it by heart by now.
At some point I might also manage not to look like chewing lemons while playing.
A confirmation of my participation in the May challenge would be appreciated ;-).
