This is my first Christmas challenge. Thanks to you and your team for the outstanding content and teaching methods. Rockclass101 has helped me grow a lot since I started playing the Ukulele about one year ago and I look forward to the next year.

MemberThank you Andrew for the very thoughtful feedback. I will work on practicing individual phrases repeatedly till I get them down and then put together the whole song. I listened to the other renditions, and frankly I am impressed that people have accomplished so much in a month. I think they are more advanced than seasoned beginners :-).
I did pick up a tip from your other lesson about looking where you want to land rather than how to get there. I just tried it today, and it does help a lot with the left hand movement.
Thanks again for all the effort you and your team are putting in to make us better and help enjoy the ukulele. You are all doing a great service.

Here is my entry. It is a challenge for me and I just have the basics down – a long way to go but I will work on it.

MemberI sent in my entry, but do not see my name iyers408 in your April entry list.
Thanks for the feedback on my playing. I am still working on Dream a little … and making good progress. In the meanwhile, the May challenge has come up! I am drinking from a fire hose (and enjoying it). I hope to get some time and work on the other courses and lessons that are on the web site.
Any tips on how to participate in the challenge while still making progress on the general stuff in the background? Thanks!

This is played on a low-G ukulele as I do not have the high – G one. It seems like I should be able to play on a low-G with a couple of changes and sound better, but the basic is hard enough for me 🙂
I would have liked to play better in tempo, and I have slowed it down to about 60, but I guess my memory needs a little more time to catch up.
I joined this group as a premium member about a month ago. I really love the lessons and I think they will enable me to progress faster. I have been playing with the wonderful folks at the San Jose Ukulele Club Jam.
Thanks

MemberHi Andrew
I just joined as a premium member. I have been playing the Ukulele for about 8 months now, but the main attraction was your focus on building skills e.g. hammer on/pull off, slides etc. for beginners. This is a beautiful piece and Matt has explained it very well. I am glad its only an instrumental 🙂 and look forward to participating and winning. I will have to change my Ukulele from low G to high G but that’s a small price for this beautiful song.
Cheers
