Thank you, thank you, thank you for a wonderful lesson. I thoroughly enjoyed it (at 50% speed). Here is my attempt at Jailhouse Rock. The ending is not what I hoped for – tried re-recording but other things break.

Here is my attempt at “Beauty and the Beast”. This has been the most difficult piece I have attempted thus far, and as you can see, its been quite a challenge. But I really loved the piece and thank you for the amazing work that you and your team are doing.

All the choices were great. I started enjoying “Toss a coin to your Witcher” more and more as I continued to play it.

Thank you for the awesome course on Triple Strum Magic. I am going through the complete course, and am currently doing Tobias’s piece “Out in the North” which is simply marvelous.
Here is the link to my rendition of the etude:

Here is my attempt at People are Strange. I started with Billie Jean and stuck with it for about half the month and then decided to change since the progress was slow (I know it is beyond my abilities, and it is also very long).I am really happy I tried Billie Jean first. I will go back and work on it slowly.
Thanks

MemberI decided to try Billie Jean and have been at it and its fun but I am afraid I will be giving an arm to this piece :). I have just finished verse 1 and pre-chorus at 1/3rd the speed. So I guess I’ll switch to Stairway to Heaven for my entry while continuing work on Evan’s masterpiece in the background. But I really want to tackle Billie Jean … Andrew can you make some allowance for heroic effort on Billie Jean 🙂

MemberThis is awesome. I am going to try Billie Jean. My goal is just to get it right at about 40% speed.

Here is my entry for this month’s challenge:
Its been just over a year since I joined rockclass101. Pineapple Uke Blues started OK but melody B proved to be quite hard for my slow left hand. I have just about managed to get it a bit, and I will build up on speed and consistency going forward.
Thank you Andrew and team for teaching me new tricks every month.

This is my attempt at Hone A Ka Wai. I was drawn to this the first time I heard it. I wish I had a soprano ukulele to make the stretches.

MemberHi Andrew
I listened to the original guitar arrangement on youtube in E, and this is a lovely arrangement of Lagrima. I have been practicing this and been having trouble with bar 14, until I accidentally happed to bar the 7th fret for the Dm11 and the 2nd fret for the E7 and noticed it makes my pluck off quite a bit easy. What do you think? Thanks, Shankar

I decided to take the plunge and get a home studio up and running. I got a Roland Rubix22 (the QuadCapture is no longer available and the used ones do not come with the Ableton Live Lite). Used a Sennheiser dynamic mic to record the ukulele. I have a pickup for the ukulele but have not had the time to get it installed.
Also uploaded the backing track to Ableton and set it to 100 bpm instead of 110 bpm. 75% was a bit too slow for me and 100% was a bit too fast. This is approximately 90%. This has been a wonderful learning experience. Thanks Andrew for your reply about the QuadCapture. Although AUTOSENS is not available on Rubix, it seems to have a compressor which can be used to limit clipping. I need to try it out.
