ripleyParticipant@Rickeymike – haha! Yes, the pinky that missed its target. I did have other recordings where I hit that note clearly but they had other errors so this was the ‘least-worst’ lol! I liked the spooky flashing light in your video 🙂
Thank you for your kind words about my blanket. It took a long time to make mainly because I got bored repeating the same pattern over and over and sewing the segments together, so I kept putting in down in favour of other projects, but I was pleased with it once I finished! It’s looking a bit tired now because my kids and cats keep poking their fingers and paws through the holes.
Here’s a reminder of the carpet from the movie though you could always do a rewatch 🙂 It’s one of my favourite scary movies and has stood the test of time.

ripleyParticipantI am a premium member
I hope my spooky shirt counts as a Halloween costume 🙂 For bonus halloween points I’m sitting in front of a blanket I made to match the design of the iconic carpet in The Shining.Ok, I won’t have any more time to practice this month so here’s my not-very-polished ‘Sounds Of Silence’. There are a couple of pauses where I can’t remember what comes next (still working on memorising!) and a dodgy note or two but I was happy with the last three bars 🙂

ripleyParticipantLovely @ lyndallk 🙂 Very dream-like
ripleyParticipantThat’s beautiful! It must feel so special to play a ukulele that you built yourself 🙂

ripleyParticipantWow @lyndallk – that was great 🙂 I need to switch one of my ukes to low G so I can have a go at Helen’s Theme too.
I can’t believe you made that uke, it sounds excellent! You must be so pleased 🙂October 21, 2019 at 6:56 am in reply to: Participate in the October 2019 Member Challenge – WIN a CUSTOM Kanile’a! #32803
ripleyParticipantThese submissions are all so good 🙂
I like your decorations Laura!
Brett – I’m super-impressed that you managed to maintain your character whilst playing that complex song! Very creepy (in a good way).

ripleyParticipantI’m in exactly the same boat @lisadmh
I think I might have to accept that my submission is going to be significantly less clean than I had hoped. Pity I couldn’t do Stranger Things for October as I’d been practising that and was doing ok!
ripleyParticipantYay!

ripleyParticipantHaha! Glad to know I’m not the only one who has managed to hurt themselves whilst playing 🙂 Hope your injuries are all healed up now @nthibode
ripleyParticipantPeople Are Strange! Love it! 😀

ripleyParticipantWow @nthibode, that was so awesome! Both the playing and the acting 😉
@lisadmh I’m struggling a little to get that change up to speed too and holding the barre chord that follows is also hard work, though that’s largely my fault for over-stretching when playing “Silent Night” and damaging a nerve in my forefinger. Lamest injury ever. Like you, I feel that I’m making slow improvements in the tricky parts so I’ll keep at it!September 21, 2019 at 10:46 am in reply to: Participate in the September 2019 Member Challenge – Next Level Strumming! #30879
ripleyParticipantI really enjoyed that performance @gaberdude 🙂
