Thanks for the great feedback Andrew. I really get what you are saying and you playing an example was very helpful. I will apply your advice.
For the upcoming June challenge I’ll have more time at home–I can’t wait to have more consistency. It makes such a difference for practice and memorization. I’m really loving the ukulele and learning from you!

    Hi Andrew and Uke friends-
Here is my May submission— what a fun song to learn & play!
I’ve been missing my uke with so much travel–it feels good to learn a new song!

    I AM A PREMIUM MEMBER

It feels great to post a video for a challenge this month. Travel has been intense for a few months. I’ve been home less than 10 days in the last 5 weeks….and I’ve not played much in that time. I miss my ukes!
I am so eager to learn more songs….I take awhile to memorize, so it’s been tough to add songs to my portfolio without being home more.

These are great Lisa; I like all of them!
My favorites are #1 and #5 but I like them all– your Kitty seems to like your playing too especially on #5:)

    Question:
I’m not sure if this fits for the topic, but it is a fingering question. I find that my left thumb joint can get very sore when doing barre chords. Either certain chords…..or when I play for an extended time. When learning Moon it happened….and recently with Dream a Little Dream (only when playing extended times).

Is this just strength needing to be built or is it possibly doing something wrong
    Thanks in advance,

I have a hygrometer to measure humidity.
For the humidifiers, I have 2 kinds: 1. Humistat 2. Oasis OH-18 (this one goes in the Uke)

Both are easy to use and work.

Thanks very much Becky. That song was very hard for me last year.
It feels good to make progress. I agree with you….I also learn from everyone here. It’s a great community. I just wish I had a few hours each day to play—Can’t wait to learn more songs now. I have my eye on a few to stretch myself!

This is my submission for January. Back on page 2 I outlined my objective.
The quick version is I’m working on refinement techniques this month and wanted to play a piece I’ve learned already but play it smooth, clean and in time. The piece is Waltz in C. I will also post my previous version from last year.

I figured it was a long shot Andrew. If I wasn’t out the next week, I’d stay for Sat and fly out later that day.

    Hi Andrew,
I live in Northern California, but I’ll be in LA TH-F for a meeting. It finishes around 2-ish on Friday and it’s in Anaheim. I fly out later that day but could come by the Convention Center area and meet you guys for a coffee in the Hilton or Marriott. I’m familiar with that area- I attend a show in March every year. Between 2:30-4….not sure if you are available during that time to say hi. I would love to meet you both in person if possible!

I still want the tabs too! I can read them fairly well and really need it for the quick reference for fingerpicking–ect….
