I’m not much of a singer but I put a capo on the second fret and juuuust about managed to limp through.

I knew that I would be short of time this month so I had to opt for one of the simpler arrangements. Here’s my attempt at the Minuet in G, which I’ve also added a few chords to, in order to fil it out a bit.

Well done everyone on all the awesome work this might. I’ve so enjoyed watching and listening to you all.
Here’s my attempt at the James Bond theme. Unfortunately, I ran out of time… and talent… and ability this month. Here’s recording four number million and seven; the one where I juuuust about got away with it.

Well done everyone with your submissions this month. I’ve really enjoyed seeing and hearing you all.
Here’s my attempt at Matt’s lovely version of Moon River. I love how this simple arrangement still allows you to inject so much emotion into the beautiful melody. I’ve opted for an “unswung” rhythm, I’m afraid because I like the original so much. But I’ve still really enjoyed listening to all you “swingers” too! 😉

May 3, 2021 at 9:59 am #46849simonalexanderParticipantBeautifully played. Thank you. I learnt this for the monthly challenge too and I’d forgotten all about. You’ve inspired me to polish it up again.
May 3, 2021 at 9:55 am #46848simonalexanderParticipantHi @sebi75
Thanks so much for taking the time to comment. I’m really glad that you liked my performance. I had a lot of fun learning it.
I think you are right about the reverb. I will definitely reduce it on future recordings.

Willie, I used three point lighting and also put a light vignette around it “in post”. Hope that’s helpful.
Look forward to more of your lovely shares.
March 6, 2021 at 11:22 am #45628simonalexanderParticipantWell done! That’s a challenging piece and I really enjoyed your rendition. Thank you for sharing.
March 6, 2021 at 11:19 am #45627simonalexanderParticipantthank you Willie and Nathalie. I really enjoyed both of those so much.
I remember attempting a finger-style version of Georgia on guitar many years … ago and I failed miserably and haven’t been able to look it in the face since.#
But you’ve both really inspired me. Maybe it’s time I gave it another go.
Thank you both.February 19, 2021 at 5:25 am #45443simonalexanderParticipantHi Dirk. Thanks for your kind words. Henley-on-Thames is actually much closer to me than you imagined. It’s only fifteen kilometres away. My son want to college there.
Although I never met George Harrison myself, a pianist friend of mine knew him quite well. But I didn’t know that he was such a ukulele fan. Thanks for sharing that.
I completely agree with you though, ukulele is a total meditation for me too: a real blessing in these tricky times.
Great to hear from you.February 15, 2021 at 3:59 am #45392simonalexanderParticipantThank you both very much. I really enjoyed it.
