AndrewKeymasterannefgodfrey – Wow, Anne! This is the best performance I’ve heard from you to date! I’m super impressed, keep up the great work! 🙂
oldan_ – I think you’re doing just fine with highlighting the melody note in the strum section. What I’d focus on is keeping the timing steady. So there’s quite a few pauses atm. Try and take a 4 bar section, slow it down and loop it until you get the timing and transitions perfect. Then increase tempo and do the same with the next 4 bars, before connecting 8 bars together.
The 4 string harmonic hit will be covered in our harmonics course, which is coming out first Friday in January.

Here is my video for House of the Rising Sun. I found this easier than Sound fo Silence from last month. It was able to memorise the tune fairly early on and I think that was a big help because I could just focus on playing and not worry about reading the music. I am probably going through it a bit fast in this video (performance anxiety maybe!!) and not sure if I kept time. I am happy with it though and looking forward to next month.

Here’s my second entry for the month, – I can’t help falling in love.. . I felt that I that improved my arpeggio strum thing significantly, but since my first video was house of the rising sun you’ll have to take my word for it. As always plenty of room for improvement and tips and comments gratefully accepted. Great work from everyone that’s posted so far there’s a lot for me to aspire to.
So, here it is:

Here’s my submission of House of the Rising Sun. As usual, I had a hard time getting a clean recording despite endless takes. I am getting a smidgeon more comfortable with the recorder on, but do wish it sounded better. Looking at the video, I think my left hand position is all over the place.
This was a fun song to learn. I’ve also enjoyed other’s submissions. I noticed the YouTube platform has added some extra steps, so it’s no surprise some people are having trouble. Hopefully this link works okay.
Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate! Are you all ready for a few rounds of Over the River and Through the Woods?
I am thankful for all the RC 101 community!
Take care,

robinboydParticipantHi everyone,
I AM A PREMIUM MEMBER.
Today was a little bit frustrating. I went for a walk to record with some nice scenery. I even managed to ignore the pademelon hopping around long enough to get a good take. Then I looked at the footage and found that the phone wasn’t recording sound so I had to go back and start over. Anyway, here is my second attempt.
Here is an out take with the pademelon the first time around (no sound)

robinboydParticipantHi @rickeymike – Actually it’s temperate forest. To be precise, it’s a fern gully in temperate wet sclerophyll forest.
