kmelton, well played Kevin! Give the picado technique a shot, it’s a really efficient way to pick. I’m glad you mentioned using this as a warm-up. I’ve been meaning to write a lesson with a few exercises and this was a friendly reminder to actually get around to doing it 🙂
Vida, great job! I really enjoy watching your videos because I continually hear you improve! Here’s one area I will want you to watch out for with that song, and it’s cutting the quarter notes short. In other words, not letting them sustain for their entire length.
So if you look at the sheet music, you can see that most of the hits that are quarter notes are the very last note in the bars. I think it would be a good exercise to sing and count the rhythm out, which I think is what I talked about in a video I made for another member earlier this month. So definitely scroll back and check out that video, but that advice will be really helpful for you too.
zukulele, excellent playing Zion! Great feel, very clean, and a solid tempo. Honestly you kept in time better than I did, bravo! The only critique I have is that the straight rhythm was at a quicker tempo, while the swung rhythm was at a slower tempo. Maybe try to keep an even tempo throughout both sections.

yenting, great job! Picking form looks excellent! The only tip I can suggest, is to try to smooth out the tempo between the 2 styles, as straight was played much quicker than swung. Keep rocking and thanks for the kind words!
Hi Al, sorry to hear about your condition. I def plan to do that song, but am holding off until I get my low G ukulele, as it will be much better suited for that tuning.

Lisa, I think due to the size of the ukulele, they don’t ring as pronounced as they would on acoustic guitar. But, they should be audible. And yes, plugged in helps to amplify the effect.

rickeymike, well done! You’ve got the difference in feels down. The only thing I would work on is to eliminate some of the pauses. So key in on those areas for your practicing. Keep up the great work!
kanae926, love the tone of the New uke Kanni! And, I thought you did really well 🙂 I think if you slow down the tempo a little bit, it would allow you to focus more on keeping the flow steady which in turn will help to further differentiate both feels.

So I had an idea to further develop it – right now we only have 1 master list, or 1 collection. Let me know if that is suitable, because an idea to add for the future is to allow you to have multiple collections – where you could also name them. For ex:
Classical collection
Blues collectionThis way you could better categorize your favorite lessons. Let me know if this is something you would want, or do you prefer to have just one collection (as it is now). I also have to see if this could be possible with the developer.
