    I decided to play O Come, All Ye Faithful this month. I’m blown away by all of the other adaptations already posted in this thread, they’re all super impressive 🙂

    I decided to try the newest video, etude no. 36! Usually, I’ve been aiming for the “Level 2” videos, but I’ve been trying to follow Andrew’s advice and focus on timing, (My shoulders are bobbing up and down slightly in the video because I’m tapping my foot as suggested haha) so I picked this one to focus more on playing with steady timing. I think that I still have a long way to go on that front – and I’m not yet able to count the notes in my head while playing, but practicing playing with a metronome and tapping to the beat seems to help.

    @The_bumble_bard Thank you! Wow, that’s really inspiring that you’ve been able to consistently play for three years- I hope I can stick with it for that long too 🙂 I hope that your uke has a very happy birthday haha

    @emiliano
    Thank you! I’m definitely having fun so far, how long have you been playing the uke for? I listen to a little bit of everything – which definitely includes OSTs and video game music 🙂 Do you have any favorite songs to play on the Ukulele?

    Thank you! I really liked your rendition of the Hawaii Five-O song! I haven’t watched the show, but the tune is so iconic and I think you did a great job

    I decided to play the Office theme! I was initially put off by it having a “level 3” difficulty, but I like the show, and its theme song, so I decided to give it a try anyway. I think that it also helped that I had previously worked on learning the “Margaritaville” cover here on Rock Class 101 – it also has hammer-ons, many of the same chord shapes, and a lot of quick movements up and down the fretboard.

    I was originally planning to record a video later this month so I could get some more practice in – and I know that this video is pretty rough with weird timing changes, a muted string, and a point where I pause – but I realized a couple of days ago that today marks 100 days since I bought my Ukulele. So, since I always like watching progress videos and that feels like a milestone, I thought it would be cool to try to record it now as an example of what 100 days of learning looks like. I’ll keep practicing and if I think I improve by leaps and bounds I’ll post a newer video later in the month 🙂

    @Andrew Thanks so much for the kind words and advice!! I have been focusing more on the progressions of chords and which sound good together – rather than the structure of each song, so the idea of also keeping in mind form and how bars relate to one another was particularly useful – I’ll make sure to concentrate on it as I keep learning 🙂

    Hi Everyone!

    It was a fun challenge to write something – I think that it drove home the value of learning more songs, and playing around on the ukulele more to get a better idea of what sounds good and what doesn’t – I kept feeling constrained by not having wide exposure to different chords/progressions yet.

    I also played the Aloha Dreaming song, and although there were definitely points where I think things could have gone smoother (especially on one of the hardest chords of the song where it sounds like I had a muted string) I had a lot of fun and was excited to tackle something a little more difficult! I plan to keep practicing it 🙂

    I played Yellow Submarine – I’ve been learning Ukulele for about a month and a half now, so I’m firmly a beginner, and this is my first time sharing a video of myself playing anywhere! I found myself getting excited and rushing through the chorus and had a lot of trouble throughout with buzzing and sometimes muted strings – hence the face I made at the end of the video haha. However, despite having a ton left to learn around timing and precision, I had a lot of fun trying to learn this song (it’s the first “solo” style song I’ve learned) and especially enjoyed getting lots of practice on barre chords.
