    Yes, @ripley – It’s great. Like I said earlier, until it was pointed out to me that playing an instrument you made is amazing I wasn’t all that interested! Goes to show! Now I’m a little obsessed – I even made the neck quite a bit thinner just the other day because it was too chunky. Anyway, its quite the treat!

    Thought I’d have a go at Sleep Walk. It is, again, a really lovely arrangement.

    Forgot where I was at the end…. but got there in the end!

    Thanks @ripley I’m really pleased with the uke. It was quite a journey. I posted a little more detail about it on the showcase your playing if you want to see all the gorgeousness!! 🙂

    Robin I swapped it to a low G and I think that’s the right thing to do with that uke! I now have another uke that is a high G (a tenor but I sort of wish I’d bought a concert) as I broke my other one (by sitting on it – eek!)

    Good points Ricky – yes moving on is good. Although I’ve been known to start again a few times when performing and frankly if its ok for Patti Smith (when Bob Dylan won the Nobel prize) then its ok for me!

    I have my mother’s wedding ring around my neck, Ricky – and a star of David that was given to her when she was 14. It’s 90 years old!!!

    Go Brett! I’m not even attempting it this month. I like all the Sounds of Silence recently

    Here’s my Helen’s Theme. Such a lovely arrangement. A few mistakes! Oh well. Life is full of mistakes!

    PS not meaning to go on about it – but this is the ukulele a made! 🙂

    Am I too late?? People are strange please – there’s not many arrangements on uke for this song.

    Oh! I was too late, but still got my choice!! Life is good

    Just had a fun evening going through submissions. Good questions and advice. Wow, Sara, you had a go at Danse Macabre! I’m impressed! And Natalie I loved your submission. It was fun to see Robin’s on Facebook! I’ve been away with my hand-made-by-me ukulele which has a high G (but not for long!) but will submit one of Helen’s Theme, or Sleep Walk sometime soon. Let’s be very clear – there will be no costume!

    Thanks Sarah, Anne, nthibode!

    Mistaken they’re gorgeous stars for sure.

    It was a retirement project. Luckily I used to live in Tasmania and have a lot of places to stay for 3 weeks. But it is a long time for sure.

    Hi Andrew,
    Very excited about this month’s challenge, and not yet sure which one I will tackle. I am not having any success in downloading the TABS. Seems there’s a bit of a new system of clicking on info within the video but that seems to only take me back to the same video page. Am I the only one having this trouble I wonder? I’ve tried on the tablet and the computer. Any thoughts?

    Cheers

    Thanks Andrew. I’m pleased Katie will hear it. We laughed at the place I always sing the wrong note even though it comes up four times throughout. Strange.

    love voices from the peanut gallery. Squesh is a cavoodle. Apparently the apparently the cavalier King Charles spaniel makes them less highly strung than the pure bred poodle. Here’s a pic

    Thanks for all the kindness uke family! I do like the sound of this uke. Thank goodness!!!

    @nthibode
    at first I wasn’t interested in building a uke. A mutual friend of mine and Cary kept encouraging me. Then I went to concert of his three sons and one had his home made bass. He said there’s nothing like playing an instrument you’ve made. Then I got interested. But it took about three years to get a good time and it cost a really lot of money. All that expertise, timber, use of machinery and tools and turns out the undivided attention of a great instrument maker. For me it was worth every penny. And I understand how ukes (and guitars) work and are built so much better now.

    By the way I love “duets for one”. Some are quite hard but so satisfying. I’ve only really done this one and summertime.

    @recdog
    . It was very intensive and about 8 hours a day. And actually I was slow so we needed a few hours on a couple of extra days.

    Nice one Robin. It nice to hear the whole thing after hearing you play it a bit when I was in Hobart. Lovely

    It was such a treat to meet RC101 folk in reality. (Not that the site isn’t real. Don’t get me wrong )

    Uke building is slow and a personal growth experience. Tears, joy, terror, awe … It’s not finished but here’s a look. I’m drying the sealant in the sun. Ukes grow on trees in Tasmania.
