December 18, 2018 at 12:24 am in reply to: Participate in the December 2018 Member Challenge – LAST CHANCE to Win Kanile’a! #21434
nggnmmParticipantHi all,
When picking songs to play for this month, I listen all of them and found that I really like this song — ‘Auld Lang Syne’, and I really want to learn it. But unfortunately, I quickly noticed that this is not for beginner…..
However, I remembered that in the last two challenge posts, I said that I will work harder next time. Then I am thinking like why not just challenge myself this time and try to play it. So here it is 🙂
I would never regret my decision because even it is far from perfect, I enjoy this song a lot. I would like to thank this challenge, because otherwise I would never try to play it myself….
(I skip 1-2 notes of little finger because it is too hard for me now….)

nggnmmParticipantYeah, we are couple and both like your classes 🙂 and hotmilktea is the singer in that video
It is a lot of fun to practice and learn together, but sometimes it is getting confused when we post threads using same computer :pOctober 30, 2018 at 12:41 am in reply to: Participate in the November 2018 Member Challenge – WIN Skype Lesson w/ Taimane! #19627
nggnmmParticipantLol, after triple check, Yep. it is an octave lower…
turning an octave higher, the booming issue is solved, now I can enjoy the low-G sounds, thanks everyone !!October 30, 2018 at 12:01 am in reply to: Participate in the November 2018 Member Challenge – WIN Skype Lesson w/ Taimane! #19616
nggnmmParticipantThanks a lot Kanae !! This song is too long for me, which is far beyond my current level. Guess it will take a year before I play the rest 🙂
Hi Robin, I have double checked the low-G string, it is indeed the standard low-G tone… I was also wondering what is the reason….

nggnmmParticipantHi Andrew,
So excited to receive the Islander Ukelele !!!! It is gorgeous !!
Really want to try out this new Uke and I found that this Moon is low-G song, and both my wife and I like it very much. However, since I am just beginner (level-0 :), I could only struggle and play the 1st theme.
Thank you again for the gift and I will continue to learn and be better!P.S. I heard that there are some ‘boom’ sounds for the low-G string, like the first note 🙁 but actually I already pay attention to pick this string softer, but still very often hear it. Is it normal? Do you have any suggestions? Thank you so much,
(just for fun, not for challenge)-

nggnmmParticipantwill the wide nut width be easier for finger picking? and is it suitable for small hand?
Why ebony is an upgrade in your website? will it affect the sound quality?
Thanks

nggnmmParticipantThanks a lot Andrew, it makes a lot of sense to me, I tried to use my left arm to keep the Ukulele stable, it works very well! Now my left hand only needs to apply very little strength, and can be much more flexible now. Thank you so much for the help !
