This month I chose “What Was I Made For” for the RC101-challenge – it is such a beautiful arrangement, and I really loved playing it! ✨

    Thanks for listening!

@Stephen Thank you so much for your feedback! 😊 I totally know what you mean, those pull offs really sound a bit weak and I’ll definitely work on them – thanks! ✨

    Hi everyone!
This month I decided to tackle “Where Is My Mind?” – I love the melody, for me personally it sounds a bit pensive but also sweet at the same time! I had some issues with it, because when I play my Low G Uke and I (quickly) let go of the string, it makes a sound which can be quite annoying sometimes 😅

I couldn’t get around doing a recording of “Dream A Little Dream of Me” as well – it was the first Jazz song I listened to when I was 11, and I remember being absolutely in love with Michael Bublé’s version of it 😍 You might notice that I did vary some things, but I was having so so much fun playing it! 😇

Thanks so much for listening! Rafaela ✨

After having taken a little break, I am more than happy to be back – and I really loved this month’s theme! 😊 I chose “Smash The Windows” because I really wanted to try and learn the Triplet Strum. I did struggle a lot with it, the coordination was quite difficult and, as you will be able to hear in the recording, I often hit the wrong string or more than one string which was very frustrating 🤪 But I will keep working on it, and one day I’ll hopefully get the hang of it!

I couldn’t resist and record “Red Is The Rose” as well, the song has such a beautiful, sweet and soft melody, and I especially love the “crescendo”-part where the melody gets more lively 😍 I’ll add that one in a separate post.

Thanks for listening! And Happy Easter to everyone who celebrates it 🐣

Christmas for me really is the most wonderful time of the year, so I am always looking forward to the December challenge 🎄 It was very hard for me to pick a song haha, but in the end there was no way I could not pick “I’ll Be Home for Christmas”. My favourite version of that song is the one by Bing Crosby, which is why I especially loved this jazzy arrangement! I am still working on 100% speed, but for now here is my recording of the song at 75% speed.

I also would like to take the opportunity to thank you, Andrew, and all the other wonderful teachers for yet another great year at RC101 – I’ve learnt so much and I am looking forward to many great songs and lessons next year 😊 And I am also looking forward to seeing and listening to many more great submissions as well, this community is just the best! 🤭

Wishing you all a merry Christmas and a happy and healthy new year 2024! 🎆

I have only watched one Studio Ghibli movie in my life (I know, I definitely have some catching up to do! 😇 ) and didn’t know any of the songs, but after listening to all of the arrangements I definitely fell in love with all of the soundtrack! My favourite one was “Merry-Go-Round Of Life”, and although it was definitely way too difficult for me I still wanted to give it a try. It is far from perfect, but was such a great workout for my fretting hand haha 😄

    Thanks for listening! Rafaela 🙂

Hmmm difficult, I think all of those songs would sound amazing on the uke! But I think I’ll vote for “House at Pooh Corner”, although this was the only song I didn’t know – but the melody sounds just so peaceful 😊

I always enjoy the songs that are with backing tracks, and I was especially happy to see that this month one of them was with piano! I had piano lessons during all of my school years, which is why I decided to record the backing track on the keyboard as well and with that combine both of my favourite instruments, ukulele and piano. 😊 The end result is definitely not perfect, but I had a lot of fun! Also, since I don’t own an electirc guitar, I recorded the guitar part on the keyboard as well and picked a Pizzicato Strings-Sound for it instead. I hope you like it! 🤭

    Thanks for listening, Rafaela 🌸

Oh wow this is amazing, I can’t believe it!! 😮 This is actually the first time I am winning something, and I couldn’t be happier with the uke – it is such a beautiful model, plus I don’t own a tenor uke yet, so this is just perfect! 😻
A big thank you to you, Andrew, and the whole team for making this possible, you’ve really made my day!! Thanks so much ☺️

    Hi everyone!

I made this recording of “Summertime Swing” today, which probably was this year’s last day of summer 🌞 The sun was shining the entire day, and I think there couldn’t have been a better song to say goodbye to the warm temperatures and welcome the cooler weather! It is such a cute, carefree and refreshing song, and it really expresses exactly what I feel when I think of a perfect summer day: bright sun, warm but not too hot (my tolerance limit when it comes to heat is at around 27°C 😄) and a fresh wind from time to time 😍

    Thanks for listening, Rafaela 🙂
