Hi everyone!

This month I went for the 50s Rock & Blues, and I have to say that it is one of the songs I enjoyed the most learning and playing so far, it’s really really great! It gives me a similar feeling the song “Summertime” does, perfect for a bright summer day! (although the 36 degrees celsius we are reaching here in Germany today are a bit too high for my taste)

(This is only with 75% speed)

This is my attempt on “March of the toreadors”. It was a lot of fun to learn this song, although the pull-offs were a bit tricky sometimes 🙂

Hi everyone,
this month I went for the song “Nessun Dorma” – I really loved how calming and soothing the arpeggios sound in combination with the beautiful melody (although some parts weren’t that calming to play haha, as you may notice I sometimes struggled with the quick chord changes, plus in the middle I managed to almost completely slide off the fretboard, oops)!
I might try to upload “March Of The Toreadors” this month as well since I am currently learning that, but we’ll see if I can finish it in time 🙂

This month I picked “Blackbird”, it is just the perfect song for spring in my opinion. Also, I coudln’t help but put my own little recording of birds’ twittering into the track, I hope it is audible 🙂

(Please excuse the slight off-tune of my uke, I had just changed strings the day before the recording and they were’t quite keeping the tune yet!)

Prelude in C is one of my favourite pieces to play on the piano, which is why I was really happy to now be able to learn it on the ukulele as well! This is such a beautiful arrangement, it was a lot of fun to play it 🙂

This month I chose The Godfather Love Theme. It is a really beautiful arrangement, and the melody sounds just perfect on Low G Ukulele!

When I listen back to the recording, it seems that my Uke sounds a bit out of tune from time to time, so sorry for that! Also, this month I almost entirely worked only with the tab sheets, which is why (unfortunately!) I didn’t do any slides, I hope it still sounds okay!

I hope everyone had a good start into 2022!
Since I am a huge fan of vintage swing music, this month I just had to pick “Five Foot Two, Eyes Of Blue”!! It was so much fun to learn all those different techniques, I’ve really enjoyed it a lot 🙂 (though the changes between the techniques were very challenging for me, as you may recognise by all the buzzing)

Yey, Christmas songs!! “Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer” has always been – and still is – one of my favourite Christmas songs, so I just had to pick that one for this month’s challenge, it sounds so good on the ukulele. While I was practicing it, I was also playing around with just the chords which lead to me doing a second recording of it where I play the song alongside the strumming I had used; I will add that version as well 🙂
