    I never expected “Fields of Gold” to sound so beautifully on the uke, but oh it defnitely does, and it has already become one of my favourite songs 😍 When I play it, I usually picture a rainy afternoon in summer, I don’t know why, but it fits just perfectly!

    I also started working on “Cielito Lindo”, which is such a fun song, I hope I’ll get to upload a recording of it as well! Also, I’m loving all the recordings so far, everyone is doing such a great job 🙂

    Thanks for listening, Rafaela 😊

    Thank you so much @annemarie and @Andrew, I was very happy about both of your comments!! 😊 I spend a lot of time practicing only those muted strings, and it is still a matter of luck if they end up being clean or not haha! But I am so glad it worked out on this recording 🤭

    I am really loving this month’s selection of songs, they are all perfect summer tunes! I am not sure, though, how much time I will have, which is why I went for “Drunken Sailor”. Back in school we used to sing that song in music class, so it brought back some fun memories! 😄 Theme 3 is really tough, especially the muted two strings in bar 10, so I had to slow down for that variation to get a decent recording of it 😅

    Thanks for listening, and have a great summer! 🌞

    I am really enjoying this month’s mini-lessons, they really are a lot of fun. But it was very difficult for me to decide which one to pick haha! 😁 In the end, I went for both “Syncopated Funk Strumming” and “Feel Good Strumming Riff”.

    Thanks for listening! Rafaela 🙂

    This month I went for “The Chicken” and wow, this song is SO much fun to play! The backing track sounds really great, and I still remember the feeling when I played along it for the very first time – it immediately made me feel so cheerfull 😍 Like last month, I am still struggling with 100% speed, which is why my recording still is only at 75% speed. I can’t wait though to finally be able to play through it at full speed.

    Thanks for listening! Rafaela 😄

    @shmu88 I totally agree, great playing! And great tempo, I am not even close to that speed, respect! 👏

    “The Ascent” really is quite a challenge, but it is also a lot of fun learning it! Here is my recording of it, it still needs a lot of work but I am quite happy about how it’s going so far 🙂
    I have to admit, though, that I did not manage to record the whole song as a single take (the furthest I got was Theme 3, from there on it went downhill veeeery quickly 😅 ), which is why I had to record all of the themes seperately (that is, I paused the recording after every theme and then began playing the next theme), hence the slight differences in the tempo. I hope it still sounds okay 😄

    Thanks for listeneing, and have a great weekend!

    I too started learning Etude No. 32 last week, which is why I’m already submitting a recording. It’s such a beautiful melody, and I often found myself humming it during the day 😄

    I am currently tackling “The Ascent”, another amazing tune (with lots of pages and lots of notes haha 😆), we’ll see how that goes – I will definitely be uploading a recording of that as well!

    Thanks for listening, Rafaela 🙂

    @smokealot Great recording, I love how peacful and relaxing you played it! 😊

    @jgillard
    & @rebeca Both of you: well played, especially in the second part when the melody speeds up! 👏

    @Steven Thank you so much for your feedback! It took me a while to find the right balance, so I am glad one can hear the distinction between melody and “accompaniment” 😊

    @jgillard
    Oooh that’s so cool! I too have the double creme matte one, and like you said, the playability is amazing, plus I didn’t have so much trouble with barre chords anymore…I remember that I immediately fell in love with it when I played it for the first time 😍 I am curious, though, how the gloss finish changes its sound, I’d really like to try it 😊 So you put your low-G string on the one with the gloss finish, right?

    @gi_gi_ Thank you so much! And yes, especially the second part definitely looked easier on the tabs than it was playing it haha 😅

    @jgillard
    Ooh thanks! 😊 But your performance was also already sounding very good, and it looks so effortless and “unlaboured” when you play 😍
    By the way, only if you don’t mind me asking, is that a Rebel ukulele you have? Because my normal (not low-G uke) is a Rebel and my absolute favourite – your uke looks pretty similar, that’s why I’m asking

    Hi everyone,

    when you guys announced that you’d be releasing a classical style course, I was stoked right away! I find classical pieces sound so beautiful on the ukulele – which, to be honest, surprised me at first, as I didn’t expect them to fit together…but oh, they definitely do!!

    This month, I tried my hand at “Adelita”: such a beautiful piece, but also so hard haha 😅 I did my best, but I still feel very “unsteady” whilst playing it, and I haven’t reached the point yet where I can play it without thinking too much and just enjoy the song.
    Also, this time I needed WAY TOO MANY attempts until I had a recording that was okay. 🙃 Every time something else went wrong and instead of getting better I felt it was getting worse, I really struggled a lot. But here it is, finally, I hope it is fine 🙂

    Thanks for listening, Rafaela 😊
