At that point, it was getting so late and I hadn’t eaten, so hangriness set in but I didn’t want anyone to think the cats were harmed since the last image was them attacking each other. 😂😅😂😅😂 Oh I’m cry laughing now too. 😂 Also that last image was going to be way worse than that but I know rc101 is rated PG, so I toned it down a bit. 😅😂😂

@johanna2509, oh my, are you serious?! That is so, so funny that you also do that!! 😂 I choose the cat idea for a variety of reasons, but it mostly had to do with my sadness that I wasn’t able to really sing the song normally and I wanted to try something very alternative. 😂 My friends who have seven cats also have a keyboard that makes cat sounds when you play it and I was trying to channel the synthesized sound of that “meow.” 😅😂 Thank you so much! I also really love cats and wanted to illustrate what their fur-iendships are like: cuddling mixed with random street fighting. 😂💕

@katazumiri, sorry for a delayed reply, this week and last week has been unexpectedly crazy out of nowhere. Normally I’m not this busy during the week. That all gets saved up for the weekend as far as “more involved” social activities usually, like parties. Nope, not this time. 😅😂
Thank you for the interesting explanation and the illustrations! Well, the examples. I have never heard that version of Anna’s Cup Song. Really like that! And I also hadn’t heard Eastern Duo’s version. I thought you fully made up that connection, but your take is obviously still very different from that.
So, we may have to reference back to the side by side you shared in the thread of the two beats. It looked like you changed the sixteenth notes to eighth notes maybe in the first measure? I also want to share my version of the cup beat because while it’s the same sounding rhythm, the way Anna and Eastern Duo does it is different. I think I also might need to go back to your version and listen again to hear the beat you chose again. Sorry, rhythm and theory is not my strong suit with music. I’m very easily confused by it. 😅😂

@katazumiri, really neat and interesting! Why did you choose to modify the beat? So, I sensed immediately that the “cup beat” / motions were different because there is a game that goes along with that beat that my sister and friends and I used to play as kids. Obviously, after seeing your video, I had to try it and it turns out that information was stored away perfectly in my brain because I could still do the beat / motions. 😅 Guess I know what we’re doing at the party this weekend (’cause we’re adults and still play silly games like that, but also my young niece will likely want to learn it). 😅😂😅 Thank you for explaining that and also for the trip down memory lane! 😅💗

I’m most proud of C-Davy Shans. 😂 I didn’t come up with Matty D, I randomly heard Aldrine Guerrero call Matt that once when he was a guest on their podcast and that stuck in my brain. Drew Dizzle is obvious, but also that “celebrity name formula” doesn’t apply as well to his name or Stephen’s. 😂😳 Stephen’s could just be Stevie Cox (it has to have a “v” in that version to sound right). Oh! It could be Stevie Boi C. Yep. That’s it. 😅😂😅

@katazumiri, that was really amazing! I love the combination of instruments you chose, the harmonica worked so well with that. The “cup beat” you did, my sister and I used to play that game as kids and also Anna Kendrick (is that her name?) sang a song with that rhythm in the movie Pitch Perfect. 😅😂 That worked so well with that song! Well done! 😊

I’ll sing in the car to try to “practice” when I have tried to sing. 😂 You’re right, it’s all in fun, anyway! 😊😅 Nice with Wildwood, it’s very fun once you get going with it! A learning curve (?) at first but once you’ve got it, you’ve got it! I think it might be part of next month’s challenge, I sense it (I asked @Andrew at one point) . 😉😂@leb397, it’s kind of funny that we had the same thought with that about singing and uke. 😅 I forgot you included that in your song, that’s really funny. I had a similar experience, how the creations on RC101 showed what’s possible to do on uke and the nearly endless possibilities with it. Before here, I could only find not really well made ukulele tabs, and I also wanted to create my own but didn’t really have the tools or knowledge to do so, even though I certainly had the will. 😅 Thank you so much! Hoping I can get an entry together this weekend possibly! 😁 Yessss!!! I saw that, I was so excited to see a new clawrhammer here! You should try it, the first part isn’t too hard, but the second part gets a little tricky, but is also really fun. 😅💕😁

Well done! 😊 It’s pretty dang cute that our ukes have about the same birthday for being played! 😂 That’s pretty crazy about your move. That’s a long while to live in one place. I started playing uke also after a big move and around quarantine time. I also thought that I shouldn’t be playing uke because I thought for some reason singing while playing was necessary. 😂 So I stopped for a while. And I didn’t know what I was doing literally at all until I found RC101. That was kind of a turning point for me because I also learned how beautiful the ukulele community is and that made me love playing uke even more. 😊💕

@emiliano, haha yes, I have seen The Office and it is hilarious! I haven’t watched that much of it but my sister and her husband practically have the show memorized and quote it constantly so I’ve learned a lot about it through that. 😂 I loved the episodes I’ve seen though. I just don’t like to watch TV by myself very much, only with other people. 😂😅 Anyway, hopefully I can do okay with that theme, I haven’t been practicing as much yet! I wonder how much practice everyone puts in during these challenges. Sometimes I only put in a few days, or slowly practice bit by bit over the month. 😂😅😶🤐
@lucauka, haha thank you! The easiest way to play ukulele that long is to love every minute of it and have as much fun as possible. And also continue to challenge yourself which is why I love RC101. All their songs are challenging and fun. 😊 Haha my ukulele says thank you, it’s basically my pet at this point… 😂

@lucauka, really lovely playing! I also have issues with pauses for sure if I’m at all taking time to “process” what I’m doing or what comes next. 😂 Congrats on 100 days o’ uke playing! My uke’s birthday was last month, I think he’s 4 or 5 but I’ve only been consistently playing for the last 3 years or so. I didn’t get him a cake though…! 😂🥺😶 This can be fixed… 😅@emiliano, good to know that you’ll keep making time for uke! You’ve got skillz for sure. Ha! I’ll let you know if I do need help with that, it’s likely, tbh. 😅😂
I’m still grieving the loss of this challenge. I was on such a massive high of excitement from seeing everyone’s original tunes. 😂 Still excited for the next challenges though because it seems like there are some amazing ones coming up. 😊
