    @leb397, thank you so much for that! You are always so supportive and kind in what you share here, and it’s so beautiful that we can all share our creative struggles and victories together here, and get through them, because of how much we love playing uke. I think other people here feel that, too. πŸ˜‚πŸ’•

    @jbmills07
    , that was so beautiful! Your new uke sounds extra lovely with that song! It definitely sounds better when you play it on Low G, as it was written. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜³ You always capture the feeling of songs so beautifully though! Thank you for sharing! 😊

    @nelsonlin2021
    , I also enjoyed watching your dancing friend! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜…

    @rebeca, thank you so much for saying that! That honestly is very touching that you say that. Thank you. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜ Divergent thinking works pretty well with creative things but not so much with every day life things or, say, relationships. πŸ˜…πŸ˜‚πŸ˜… Not always, anyway. To me that is the most exciting thing about creating anything is being able to explore what something could be, or convey a depth of feeling, or write deranged stories about classical composers turning into frogs. πŸ˜‚ For some reason, I find that idea hilarious, to think about historical figures in odd situations like that, like Bill Shakespeare going through a Taco Bell drive-thru–which I wrote a poem about once. πŸ˜‚ Anyway, thank you so much!

    @karenj, your take on Summer Nights was lovely! The struggle with that one is real for sure, but you did so great with it. πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜…

    @leb397
    , that was very lovely! Summertime Swing is such a happy tune and you captured the spirit of it for sure! 😁

    Everyone else has done such a great job as well!

    I forgot to say, @Andrew, could you please remove me from the prize drawing this month? Thank ye! 😊

    @Andrew, thank you so much!! I actually did try to play it with the “miss strums” at first, but then I went into survival mode and those strums couldn’t fit on the raft at the end of the movie, even though (as you pointed out) they could definitely fit. πŸ˜…πŸ˜‚ Thank you for the feedback, I’ll try it that way again! 😊

    @johanna2509, thank you so much for sharing that! That’s really helpful and some great ideas for how to approach tricky strumming. I defs was trying to do too much at once. πŸ˜… I also had a hard time with the first section of strumming, but you’re right that it did get better with time, and now it’s enjoyable to play that part. It is incredibly satisfying when something seems impossible and you actually end up doing it! Bars 7 – 9 defs need more practice for me, but I’ll for sure try what you suggest, thank ye! 😁

    @marianne
    , agreed with @gi_gi_ that you did an amazing job with that song!

    @ldarrow
    , that was so great!! That song is so magical and you nailed it! 😁

    @johanna2509, I also chose Summer Nights and your assessment is correct, way more challenging than it looks. For me it was bars 7 – 9. πŸ˜… Your take was very lovely though!

    And then there’s this… πŸ˜‚

    I definitely underestimated how hard this song would be. In fact, I was so intimidated by it after I watched the video again that I didn’t think I could do it at all, but still tried it. All the strumming parts were really difficult for me. The hardest part was knowing what chords to play on the upstrums versus downstrums, the timing, and also the physical motion of strumming–so literally all of it. πŸ˜‚

    This is my best take, but I’ll keep working on it! Thank you for creating this lovely tune, Andrew, and for these challenges! 😊

    (No one cares but I didn’t realize how crazy my hair looked until it was too late but this was my best take, so… Also the ending came from one of Matt’s recent videos. πŸ˜‚)

    This is so, so beautiful! It has a very folksy sound to it, and a bit jazzy, too. The story behind it is also really great. So true, there is something wonderfully therapeutic about playing uke. For me, it helps with anxiety. But really amazing job with this! I hope you keep sharing your creations here; they are fantastic! 😊

    @leb397, thank you so much, my friend!! πŸ˜πŸ’• hahaha, that makes me so happy when that kind of goofy writing amuses other people or makes them smile. πŸ˜… I have too many hobbies. I feel blessed that I was given a love for creating in different ways. I will keep at it! Thank you! 😁

    @jbmills07
    , hahaha! Thank you, I saw your YouTube comment as well! Thank you for that. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜… Ha, now the song needs to be modified to match the story, like I mentioned, and I have some fun ideas for that, I think. πŸ˜‚ Thank you so much for liking my writing, that really means a lot! I know I can get carried away with writing, but I feel like Matt and Andrew appreciate the silly side to the live lesson comments; I can’t tell you how many times I died laughing at Matt’s reactions especially, especially with the “fiesty mama buffalo” and Daniel Day-Lewis and the root beer and uke personification. πŸ˜…πŸ˜‚πŸ˜…πŸ˜‚ But yes, I have wanted to do something with writing because I think of myself more as a writer than anything else. I started to create a blog called The Bumble Bard, but it isn’t public yet, but maybe I should finish that. Oh my, perhaps I could use your voiceover talents at some point soon, if you’d be willing and it actually relates to this story. I wanted to create a video / children’s book version of this story with the uke as the music. πŸ˜‚ Maybe you could read the story? The drawings don’t exist yet, nor a condensed version of the story, but I want to do that. Literal nonsense. Sorry I rambled so much, thank you for the lovely comment! 😊

    @jbmills07, that is absolutely gorgeous! You can tell how beautifully made it is, so shiny and that dark, rich wood grain is so beautiful. And obvs, the sound… So lovely. And you got chocolates with it, flippin’ score! πŸ˜…

    Congrats again!! 😁

    @janaq1, thank you very much!! 😁 I really appreciate your kind words. I have maybe too many hobbies and interests, but playing uke has become one of my favorites. It’s always so fun to find a new way to create. 😊

    I remember you posted one of your original uke songs here a while ago and it was really, really good. I may want to go give that another listen. πŸ˜…

    @dianna, hahaha, thank you so much, friend!! πŸ˜…πŸ’• That really means a lot. I hope that I can keep adding more depth and complexity to these arrangements and songs, but really it’s just for the fun and ridiculousness of it. πŸ˜… That definitely isn’t the strangest thing I’ve written. πŸ˜…πŸ˜‚πŸ˜…πŸΈ

    @gi_gi_, hahaha!!! I’m so happy you found it funny! πŸ˜… I can’t tell you how much fun I have writing dumb, nonsensical things like that. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜…πŸ˜…πŸ˜… That’s one of my favorite things to do. That’s why I like writing ridiculous posts for the live lessons and things, as well, while also trying not to be too disruptive, πŸ˜… because Matt and Andrew are such a great teachers with a lot of great material to share.

    @ldarrow
    , that’s so beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing that; I really love how you describe that, very lovely phrasing, and it’s so nice that this song caused you to imagine those things. I almost like that more than my silly story. πŸ˜… I love that about music, too; just how it draws emotions and images out of different people in different ways. For me, when I play something like Beethoven’s music or any song I find beautiful, I think about the person who created it and their experiences, or I get swept up in imagining what the person playing it feels when they play it. With Beethoven, I think sometimes about the struggles he had with losing his hearing, as a brilliant composer, and the cruel injustice of that and the devastation he must have felt, but from that, he still created such overwhelmingly beautiful things; in my eyes, the music expresses that conflict, the mixture of sorrow, joy, and beauty that life brings us all. Also, frogs. πŸ˜‚
