Hey everyone! Here is everyone on page 12!

    goody2shoes
Sounds great!! not much to critique. Keep it up!

    joe150

Awesome job! I would just work with a few of those chord traditions and smoothen them up a bit. I think that’s really the main thing here. Keep up the good work!!

    ebetsimo

Great Job! I think you played this very well. keep up the good work!

    mistaken

great job!! the slower tempo works well here I think. Keep up the good work, I think this sounds nice!!

    pika80019
fantastic job!! I really enjoyed listening. Sounds great!!

    tiff27

sounds awesome!! I would work on some of the chord transitions. This tune has a lot of chords in it, some that move faster than others. So being able to transition seamlessly through them will make this one sound great. Everything else you sounds spot on, so keep it up!!

    stainukulele

Great Job! very nice performance. Not much to critique here. Keep it up!

    andracass
sounds great!! Only thing i would say is to work on the chord transitions! This tune has a lot of chords so it’s a bit challenging. Other than that you sound fantastic!! Keep up the good work!!

    aloooy

So good! I really enjoyed this. You sang great too. Love it. Great Job!!

    whollyprofit

Great job! Nothing wrong with taking it slow. It’s always better to practice slow and practice correctly instead of jumping up to tempo and playing things sloppy. You sound great!!

    janaq1

You sound great!! Not much to critique. Awesome job!!

    Catherine

Sounds awesome!! Very nice to listen to. Keep it up!!

    rucha11

sounds awesome! I would watch out for some fret buzz especially on the higher notes. I still will get that too, just be more cautious of your finger placement as you get up to those higher notes so you make sure to watch out for that as you playing. Great Job overall!

    dal08260

Great job!! The chords sound great, I would work on some of the melody notes since it sounds a bit choppy on a few parts. Make sure the notes ring for the appropriate length and you should be golden. It’s an easy fix! you sound awesome so adding this in shouldn’t be an issue!

hey everyone! Here is everyone on page 10!

    bklynsoul

Sounds great! I would work on the timing on some of the notes. Most of the notes sound just fine, but there are a few that are a slightly late. This piece has a lot of space between notes so it can be a little weird to keep count in your head, but it sounds great overall!!

    rockmyuke
this sounds great! Not much to reall to critique. Keep it up! I love the Martin acoustic btw!

    andyrose

sounds awesome! I would be careful with that stubborn fret buzz! Making sure your playing with enough force on the strings is a great to solve that. Great Job overall!

    katazumiri

Great Job! I like that you’re playing it a bit slower. Everything sounds clean up smooth, so now you can work on bringing it up to tempo. Sounds awesome!!

    b_ukes_101

Sounds great! I would just pay attention to the timing as well as the slides. This piece is slow and there’s a lot of space between notes, so keeping count in your head is super important for this one. You sound awesome and im happy you enjoyed the tune!!

    lbilkie
sounds awesome!! timing was great and so was the tone and dynamics. It’s a dark tune and so it needs a slightly darker timbre by playing it softer, so great job!!

    lynnwatson

sounds awesome!! I would work on the chord transitions a bit as that will make it much smoother sounding! But you got the piece down packed so it’s just that little bit. Great Job!

    robinl

Sounds great!! not much to critique here. Awesome Job!!

    givingtree89
Great Job!! I would work on eliminating some of that fret buzz. I still get that all the time too, and it comes from not enough force on the string, or your playing the note too close to the actual fret. You just gotta watch out for that because it happens to all of us! Sounds awesome though!!

    wrongbrown
Great Job! Very smooth and nice to listen too. Not much to critique here. Love the shirt as well!!

    dododudus
Fantastic Job!! Great technique too. Love the end!! Great job overall. keep it up!!

    bemarlie

Great Job! Only thing i would say is maybe watch the tempo through out by adding some rubato. That technique sounds great on most solo instrumental pieces and for this one especially i think it would sound great. Sounds awesome already though!!

    kirpuff

very well played! Great dynamics and technique. Keep up the good work!

    rucha11

Great Job! Barre chords are a bit tricky on the uke for me as well since I have petty big hands! So try to to take those chords and make sure you are applying enough pressure on the strings to get the chord to sound right, but also make sure the other fingers playing the melody around the chord are not getting in the way of the ringing strings. So I would just take those sections and play them slow so you can really see you fingers and go from there!

    bariton

This is awesome! Great playing and performance. Awesome Job!

    kanae926

Awesome job! Only thing i can say is more of a style preference, but I see you play with your palm resting on the bridge. I typically play with my hang hanging over the strings not resting on anything and to me it allows for more dynamic control as well as for some other strumming techniques. Again. more of a style preference but it won’t hurt to try both ways!

    mark1256

awesome job!! I would watch the timing and tempo just a bit. I have the tendency to rush a lot of the time, and when I start to really think about the tempo, I find everything flows a lot smoother and sounds way better. Keep it up, you sound great!

    andrewvh

your picking technique looks great! I would work on some of those quicker right hand melodies a little bit because you got the chords and even the harmonics! So once those melodies are clean, I think you’ll have this piece down very well!!

    robinl

Sounds awesome! Great performance. Keep it up, I really enjoyed listening to this!

    surrealflea

awesome job! Only thing watch out for that stubborn fret buzz on those barre chords. Make sure you finger is barring right in the middle of the fret and with enough pressure. I would recommend working on it with the transitions before and after the barre, so that way you’re learning how to go in and out of it. Keep it up!

    rockmyuke

sounds great! Love the piece. Really great picking pattern as well. Keep up the great work!

    ramiro

Super cool piece!! I love it. Kinda has a latin feel which is awesome! For the picking part, I would try to minimize the movement of your fingers after you pick the strings, They look to be going slightly too far up from the string which makes it sound a little choppy since you have to get your fingers back to the normal position. I used to do the same thing. Your finger should kinda curl once you hit the string instead of the whole thing lifting away from the string. Does that make sense? Great job though, love the tune!

Hey guys!! Hope all is well. Here is everyone on page 5

    b_ukes_101

sounds really great! I would recommend using your pinky for some of those higher notes in the A section, you are using it in the B section which is awesome. Being able to utilize the pinky for higher notes when the other fingers are already doing other things is crazy helpful. Takes a little bit to get it to where it’s a second nature thing, but when it’s there you forget you’re using it and it really helps make those shifts to higher notes way cleaner. Great job overall!

    lhamilton

fantastic job! great tempo and feel. Technique looks great too, so keep it up!

    rebeca

awesome job! love the progression and some of the chord voicings as well. Very clean performance all around. great job especially for a first attempt at an original piece. Keep it up!

    kittycatlin

sounds great!! only thing i would work on is your picking hand! it’s a subtle thing but try keeping your fingers closer to the strings after you pick the notes. It cleans it up a lot by minimizing the movement of your fingers and can be a huge help with more advanced pieces. Sounds fantastic overall and i love the uku and your cats! I have 2 little dogs myself!!

    surfnrz

great job!! Tempo, dynamics, and technique all look and sound great! This is one of those pieces where the tempo speeds and slows down and you did a great job with that. keep it up!

marianne – this is super awesome!! So sorry to hear about that explosion, but am glad that they are doing okay now. Love the song! Chords, progression, melody and harmonies are great. Keep up the good work!!

Sounds really great! I love the slower tempo for this one. I think this piece is one that can sound great at both high and slow tempos. The way you played it here gives it a more personal vibe and its’s awesome. Great Job!!

    patparr

Great Job! Only thing i can recommend is work on the A section just a bit and get those slides and transitions a bit smoother! For me, i struggle with the same thing since my hands are big and still struggle to get my fingers in the correct fret, so im with you on this!! Everything else sounds great though!!

riley_ukulee – Great Job!! Only thing I have is to watch for that stubborn fret buzz! Especially when sliding up or down to a note. I still have that problem too, especially when recording. So, Just keep an eye on that. Keep killin’ it!

jensmcc_ – Sounds great!! I would watch the position and angle of your right hand and make sure you’re not tense or anything. You want your hand to feel very relaxed. Along with a slightly different angle, it will allow your fingers to pluck the strings in a more natural sounding way and less choppy. But that comes with practice so you got this!!!

henri0 – Sounds awesome!! Not much for me to say but keep killin’ it! \m/

nickyg – Awesome Job!! Technique on both hands look great! The only part i think could some slight improvement is that chord climb at 1:48. Just the rhythm hand mainly. Everything else sounds awesome. Keep on rockin’! \m/

aloooy – Sounds great! Great tone and timing. Watch out for that little fret buzz as you get higher on the neck. I struggle with that myself, so once you get up high, keep some focus on making sure your fingers play right in the middle of the frets!

tric_o_tronic – Great Job!! One thing I would try is utilizing your ring finger on the picking hand. Try to use this method : Thumb -4th string, Index – 3rd string, Middle – 2nd string, Ring – 3rd string. That format works great for most arrangements, so give that a shot. I think you’ll do great with it!

nohabaity – Beautiful performance!! Not much for me to say. Keep it up!!

b_ukes_101 – Awesome Job and great playing! Try holding the uke higher up around your chest and use your arms to keep it steady as you play. When I first started years ago, I held it similar to how you are, but when I switched it was a pretty massive difference and made it so much more natural to play since it is such a small instrument. Sounds great!!

coffeemug – Great Job!! I would try playing either a little harder, or try to use a different part of your finger for the strumming bits. Sounds like your using your nail primarily which gives it a thinner sound. The very intro of this piece, you were using more of your finger tip which gave it a richer sound, and then the strumming portion sounded slightly thinner. So experiment with that and see what sounds best to you. Nothing wrong with the thinner sound at all, just another option! Keep it up!!

audreyrozowykwaitlucie – Awesome job!! I would alter you picking hand slightly. Your hand is sitting a bit flat against the strings, so try bringing it up and having your hand come from above the strings almost like a claw, and then let your fingers do the work from there. Try that and see how it feels!

morrieuke1 – Great Job! Technique and timing sounds awesome. Keep it up!

yugalup – sounds awesome! Practice making the melody sound and flow more soothly. The trick is not the pick up your finger until right when you play the next note. If you cut the note a little early it starts to make it sound a bit choppy. You got it got it though! Sounds like you’ll get that super quick!

cloud_cactus – Great Job! I noticed you are anchoring your pinky on the body of the use as you play. Thats probably just a style preference, but try to let you hand and fingers sit almost like a claw above the strings. I have tried to adapt that anchoring method before and it makes my playing a little harder than i think it needs to be. Like I said, probably just a style preference, but give that a shot and see how you like it. Awesome job!!

biancak – Great Job! I enjoyed listening to you play that. Your technique looks great so not much else for me to say!

bklynsoul – This sounds awesome! There was one little part at the end of the A section were the melody sounded a little choppy. Not a big deal at all, just listened out for that and try to keep that melody smooth through out. You have great tone!!

misskika -Awesome Job! Technique, tone, and timing sounds great!

timolnz – Great Job! Practice a bit on the slides in the melody, as well as the melody and chords higher up the neck. Everything gets harder for me up higher on the neck as well so I always have to be very careful how I play when I get way up there. I have pretty big hands, so 3 or 4 note chords way up high are super tricky but it can be done!! You sound awesome though so keep it up!

happyonuke – sounds great! Try practicing the flow of the piece a little more and get it all sounding smooth flowing in and out of each section. That just comes with practice, and since you know the piece now and how to play it, go back and focus on the flow. You sound great though!! Keep Rockin’!!

    riley_ukulele –

Forgot to add yours to the original post, so my bad!!
This sounds great! I think the only parts to work with are those climbing chords at 0:57 as well as the higher octave of the melody. Other than that i think you sounded awesome!

awesome!! This arrangement can be a bit tough at first, so one thing I would try is to use your first, middle, and ring fingers on the 3rd, 2nd, and 1st string, and keep your thumb on the 4th string. Utilizing different fingers for each string can very quickly smoothen out everything and even help you increase the tempo! It can feel a bit weird at first, but stick with it and you’ll see what i mean! It was unnatural for me at first, but now it’s second nature and it helps with so many things. You sound great though! Your notes very strong and clear which is also super important. Great Job!

    lisa-k

Fantastic!! Great feel and tempo throughout the whole piece. Just watch out for those buzzy notes! Make sure sure your finger is properly on the string with enough pressure. That’s really it. I would also adjust your picking hand a bit so that your fingers are closer to the strings so you can minimize the extra movement. great job though!

    santai

Sounds awesome!! Main thing is make sure the lower strings sounds clear and strong. All the other strings are fine, it’s mainly the low notes on the 3rd string that sound a bit choked. Be careful for buzzy notes on the higher frets for that mid section. I struggle with that too! So just aware of these couple of things. Everything else sounds great!

    karenj

Great job!! I would utilize your middle finger more for the first string notes on the melody for the fingerpicking in the verse sections. It can really clean up the sound and make it sound smoother since hat finger isn’t jumping back and froth from string to string

    jkulele

Very nice!! Try slowing it down the first section a bit. I think you have that part down so slowing it down will sound more like the song. Just keep working on the rest slowly accurately like you already are and you’ll be super fluent in this arrangement in no time!!

    ronnieg

Great Job!! Only Thing is be careful with how hard you pluck the strings. At a few parts it sounds like you were pulling the string a little too much which makes the attack of the note very sharp. So just watch out for that. You sounded great though!!

    gardn_gnome

Awesome job! Keep practicing it like you are. Slow and steady. That’s a great way to make sure you’re not making mistakes that can turn into bad habits. Watch your picking hand and make sure your fingers stay close to the strings after you pluck. I also wouldn’t anchor your fingers on the end of the body. Keeping your fingers near the strings will make everything so much easier once you speed it up. They will always be right where you need them to be instead of having to do all extra movements to bring them back so you can pluck them

    sticks366

    sounds great! Keep rockin’!

    timolnz

Great Job!! Try slowing it down a bit and play with a softer dynamic for the verse sections. When the strumming chorus comes in, you can use a slightly louder dynamic. For this song, The soft dynamic for the verses sounds so great!!

    Joannetala

Awesome Job! just watch out for some at that fret buzz on the higher frets. Other than that I think you sound great!

    iyers408

Great Job!! I would say make sure the melody notes right out without any buzz here and there. Some of the notes would get cut off slightly to early but that’s normal. I still have the problem a lot too. Just comes with a lot of practice!!

Great Job! I think you nailed it. I would start working on increasing the tempo gradually until you reach the main tempo. Awesome Job!

    cimarronsailor
Sounds great! Good job on avoiding lots of fret buzz. I can’t see your picking hand, so next time make sure you get that hand in the frame. Sounds awesome!!

    emiliano

killer job!! Very clean, smooth, and consistent sounding. I enjoyed watching you play it too. Looks like you were having fun. That’s awesome!!

    ukukelley1

Sounds Great!! I would utilize your ring and middle fingers on the picking hand more for the melodies instead of playing it all with the index. When you switch strings and do it all with the index finger, it can actually make it a bit harder. I usually have my thumb on the 4th, index on the 3rd, middle on the 2nd, and ring on the first. Obviously there re exceptions here and there, but that will work for a lot of things and make the piece flow a lot smoother.

    rustypal

Very nice!! Everything sounds very clear and even. I would say just get that higher rendition of the verse a little cleaner, but other than that I think it sounds great!

    jinajupiter

this is awesome!! Love the recording and the different instruments too. Very cool. For the arpeggios on the ukulele, try using a different fingers to make the arpeggios sound a bit smoother. I usually do thumb on the 4th, index on the 3rd, middle on the 2nd, and ring on the first string. That’s a common method and it can be done other ways of coarse, but that works well for me so definitely give it a shot. I really love this video!!

    maryjanew

not horrible at all!! Everything sounds great, just keep playing it and practicing it so you can work with those transitions and other things like that. Do it slowly and take your time. You sound great though so keep rockin it!

    kirpuff

very nice!! Just work on the timing a little bit and get those changes and everything locked into the groove. There’s a tendency to rush when playing with a backing track or a drum groove. I know because i do the same thing. haha! So that would be the main thing i would work on. Great job though!!

    morrieuke1

This sounds great! Only thing i think would be to watch the dynamics in the first couple of sections. Play with a softer touch and attack, and for the A minor chords at the end of the progression before it repeats, play those with your thumb so it has a very soft attack as well. Those sections always felt very emotional and a bit dark to me, so having that softer touch on the notes can really get that point across so that way when the chorus part kicks in, it’s all bright with sharper dynamics, giving a lot more life to that par. I think you killed it though! Great tone and finger style technique!!

    simonalexander

Great Job!! Obviously this arrangement is more advanced and higher in tempo. I would try to slow it down a little bit and work on all those transitions from chord to chord. It jumped around a lot, and even for me, when I’m playing something like this i tend to miss notes, hit the wrong fret, or hit the right fret but I don’t hit it accurately so the note buzzes. Little things like that. So try to slow it down a bit, get those transitions, and keep focus on that metronome! It’s easy to rush something like this. I know because I do the same thing! Once it’s all locked in with the drums and everything sounds clean and accurate, this arrangement sounds so great. Great Job though! You are basically there already so this should be super quick for you

    verity2003

Great Job! All i really would say is watch out for the transitions between the melody notes. Sounds like the notes cut off slightly too quick making it sound a bit choppy. You want that smoother transition from note to note that results in a more fluid sounding melody.

    b_ukes_101

Sounds awesome!! I would recommend playing all the arpeggiated chords with thumb, index, and middle fingers instead of just the thumb. Use the thumb for the rolled strums but using the other fingers for the rest of the arpeggios can smoothen out the sound of it. May be kind’ve a style preference, but that’s how i would go about it. Great job though. Dynamics were spot on!!

    mistaken

Great Job!! All i can say is watch your picking hand. When you pluck the strings, try not to pick up your fingers so high off the string. Keep them very close to the string after you pluck it. The Further your fingers go from the string, the further and quicker you have to get back to it which can cause it to sound a bit choppy. That kind of finger control can make things sound smoother, fluent, and you end up having more dynamic control. It’s natural to pick them up so far. I had to train myself with this same thing too. You sound awesome though!!

    wongbrown

Awesome job!! I would say be aware of tempo! at 2:20 you speed up a good bit from the first half, so keeping that the same as the first will sound more consistent

    amandali

fantastic! I think you nailed it. Just work on the transitions from those chords that climb up the next. They are a little weird at first, but you’ll get that super quick. Great job!

    mljordan3

Sounds great!! your tempo and feel throughout were awesome. A couple of tiny spots where there were some hesitation between transitioning, so just work on that. Once you have everything fluent then you’ll have this piece down completely!

    rufio0

great job!! I will say just work on the pull-offs in the melody they are tad bit rushed, so holding it out a tiny bit longer will be more rhythmically accurate and some smoother. Everything else sounds just fine

    givingtree89

Very nice!! I think you nailed it. Just be careful with some of those buzzy notes higher up the neck towards the end. that chord that climbs up the next before the second half, the very last one at 1:09 im not hearing all the notes. Just the highest and lowest one. So just work on that barre chord and make sure each note can be heard. Thats it!

    willymac

Great Job!! I think you nailed it. finger picking technique looks good and natural, and flows nice. Not much else to say but keep killin it! \m/

Here are the entries for Page 15

kanae926 – Great playing!! Very clean sounding barres chords and melody. Loved it!

kelsey91 – Awesome Job! Try strumming a bit lighter for those big strums. It gets a bit louder that the rest of the piece. Also, watch out for those muted notes! I heard a few melody notes get muted by accident, so just make sure your finger is sitting properly on the string and you are pressing down enough. Sounds great!!

givingtree89 – Nice Job! Sounds a tad bit rushed, so take your time with it! Slower is a great thing for this piece, especially the end. Slow it down gradually for that very last measure to give it a more dramatic ending.

gardn_gnome – Great job! I would just pay attention to how you’re plucking the string. It sounds like it’s being plucked a little but too aggressively, so soften up your touch a little bit and that should fix it!!

unclemymy – Loved it!! Sounded a little fast at first, and then you settled into a nice tempo. So just be sure to make everything more or less the same tempo throughout

apblondie – Very great performance! I really enjoyed it, Not much more to say but awesome job!

mac1984 – Sounds great! Keep up the fingerpicking!!

yellowrosecottag – Great performance! Watch out for ringing strings as well as fret buzz. Make sure your finger is properly placed in the fret and that you have enough pressure on the string. Muting techniques for both hands will solve the ringing open strings. Great job overall!

Here are the entries for page 14

raffarooni – Great playing! Only thing I would work on is the melody when it gets higher on the neck. Be careful not to get fret buzz. Usually that can be caused by your finger placement being too close the fret bar. I find that playing towards the center of the fret with enough pressure will get rid of it!

russellbarnett – Awesome Job! Great tempo and feel through out!

andrewvh – Sounds great! Make sure those melody notes ring out and sound clear. It sounds like the notes are being cut off a little too abruptly in some places. Try slowing it down a little bit and focusing on making those notes sustain longer. Also, your daughter is hilarious!!

marama – This is great! Try adding some more rubato to slow and speed up the pace a little bit. That technique works very well with this piece, and it adds so much more emotion!

tiff27 – Nice!! I like the slower tempo a lot. Really gives it that dark feeling. Great Job!

ripley – Very nice!! Watch out for those extra strings ringing out over the main chords and melody. Practice some string muting techniques with both your fretting and picking hand to help get rid of those annoying strings!

Gaby – I really enjoyed this! Very nice performance of this piece. The tempo and the tone of the notes were both great,

ramon91 – Good job!! I would try to make the melody and chords less abrupt sounding. Let the notes ring out longer and get the transitions with it. Overall, great playing!

lisamcc – Really great job!! nice and clean playing and transitions. I enjoyed listening to it!

iyers408 – Love it! I would recommend slowing it down a little bit and playing with a softer touch. This tune sounds great played lightly. Overall, great job!

hey everyone! Here are the entries for Page 13

barbecueblack – very good! One thing I would work on is the transitions from chord to chord. Practice the piece a little slower and make sure there aren’t any pauses between chords. You want a very seamless transition for an overall smoother sound. Great playing though! This piece is definitely a bit challenging.

coffeemug – sounds great! Try working on dynamics and tone a little bit more. This piece is very dark, and a lighter touch on the picking hand, as well as using some rubato can really make this piece come to life and give off that dark emotion.

    cyukug – sounds very good!

k_rall – great performance! The tempo sounded nice and not rushed. I would just be careful about the fret buzz. For me, I find that if my finger is slightly too close to the fret, or I am not applying enough pressure on the string, I get that same fret buzz. Pressing your finger more in the center of the frets with enough pressure usually always fixes it.

bklynsoul – awesome job! your performance of this piece sounds very fluid. I would just work a little more on the ending and get that a bit more polished.

fred21 – sounds awesome!! your strummed arpeggios sound nice. Great Job!

ealtman – great job! I would work on smoothening up your chord transitions as well string muting. some strings would ring out after switching to the next chord or melody note.

gstriph – awesome performance! very nice tempo and feel! One thing I would work on is making sure that open G string doesn’t ring out after you lift your finger from it to move on to the next note. Try muting techniques with your picking hand to ensure a clean transition!

santai – sounds great!! I would practice making sure that the melody line sounds nice and fluid. Once you get higher up the neck it is easier to miss the note since the frets get closer together. Working on your barring as well as finger placement on the fret can really help with this.

alterin – great playing! For this piece, I would soften your strum, as well slow the strum down a bit. This piece is very soft, so you want to get that tone by a playing lighter, and making sure the melody doesn’t sound too sharp.
