Hi, I chose “The dock of the bay”. Great arrangement, and I love the song. 🙂

Hi everyone, this challenge really got me. 😅 I worked on the 50s Blues & Rock and nearly got it down, but I would have needed a few more days to record it with the backing track. So I made a last minute change, and here I go with the Reggae Rhythm & Blues. Both versions are in one video.

bibileleParticipantHi @Andrew,
Wow, thanks a lot for your detailled feedback! I will check out holding the pick as you auggested. I think maybe I can even do the same thing with the thumb pick. I gave the feeling that I hold it the same way like a regular pick, only that I have a better hold on it. Any yes, my arm is really unrelaxed, up to the shoulders, when I do that technique. Need tons of hours more on that. 🙂March 31, 2025 at 2:54 pm in reply to: Participate in the March 2025 Member Challenge – Rewind & Replay! #73337
bibileleParticipantHi everyone,
here is my second video for this challenge. Really a cool idea. I always want to relearn songs and then I don’t take the time.
So, I went for “Misirlou”, which is an awesome song, and I love the technique. I’m not sure if you can really hear an improvement, but I changed my technique from thumb to pick (as I don’t have nails like Taimane), and this works better for me. With my fingers I tend to mute the string with the fleshy part below the nail. No flesh at the pick – perfect. 😉
Enjoy. 🙂-

bibileleParticipantGreat challenge. I choose Misirlou, I want to increase my tremolo picking speed. Here is my submission from July 2023.

bibileleParticipantHi everyone,
here is my last minute entry for this challenge. My goal was to master harmonics and learn “Amazing Grace”. I failed with the tapping, so I use only the other technique. You need maximum volume to listen to this. 😉

bibileleParticipantHappy new year everyone!
What a nice challenge to start the year. 🙂 So here is my choice:Execution:
I will be working on improving my harmonics skills. I started the lesson “Natural & Artificial Harmonics” decades ago, but I didn’t really master the artificial harmonics. So I will go back to the respective units and exercise daily as possible.Application:
I will learn to play “Amazing grace”, the Capstone Performance Piece of the course “Natural & Artificial Harmonics”.Evaluation:
I will post a video of me playing “Amazing grace”.December 21, 2024 at 6:40 am in reply to: Participate in the December 2024 Member Challenge – WIN $3,100 Kanile’a #64993

Hi everyone,
Here is my video of Feliz Navidad. Playing it for the biggest part of the month really brought me into Christmas mood. 🎅 Thanks for the beautiful arrangement!
Merry Christmas to all of you and a Happy New Year! 🎉

Hi everyone,
here is my submission for this month’s challenge. Thanks for the beautiful etude, Andrew! My first submission with my baritone ukulele. 🥳 Not my best try though. 🙈October 31, 2024 at 6:00 pm in reply to: Participate in the October 2024 Member Challenge – WIN $3,100 Kanile’a #64311

Happy Halloween! I got to love this song, and I used it a lot today (the original from my phone) to scare people. 😆
This time I forced myself to play a little bit faster. It was a good exercise, but I messed up the timing at some points, and got stuck at the chorus. 😅 But my skeletons needed to go to bed, so here is my not very perfect attempt at “Spooky, scary skeletons”. Have fun!October 3, 2024 at 5:53 pm in reply to: Participate in the October 2024 Member Challenge – WIN $3,100 Kanile’a #63957
bibileleParticipant@The_Bumble_Bard I guess a pipe organ is what you can hear in churches. Then it’s similar, but not the same. The electric organ does not have pipes, but just a speaker. To be honest, the sound sucks. 😅 The technique is also similar, but with the electric organ you mainly use only one foot and only the ball of your foot while on the pipe organ you do a lot of footwork with both feet, ball and heel. I’ll definitely put Toccata into my wanna-learn-list for the ukulele, but probably not in October.

bibileleParticipantGreat songs. 😊 I love Blue Moon, but I already posted it for another challenge some time ago. @The_Bumble_Bard, I’d also love to do Toccata, I love that one since I did it on the electric organ decades ago. 😱 But I’m not sure if I’d rather need one year instead of one month learning it. 😂 So I think I’ll wait and see how I like the Spooky, Scary skeletons, and then I decide what to do.
